WHEN DO YOU BELIEVE MARK 16:15-18 GOING TO HAPPEN ??

# 1 In verse 15. He said to them got into all the world and. Preach the Gospel. to everybody creature

#2 He who believes and is BAPTIZED. ( NO HYDOR , WATER HERE ). will. be saved , BUT he that. does not believe

WILL BE CONDEMNED. !!!

#3 AND THESE SIGNS. will follow those who believe in. MY. name. they. shall cast out. DEMONS. they will speak with NEW TONGUES

#4 THEY shall take up SERPENTS , and if they drink any DEADLY. thing. , it will by no means hurt them. and they will hands

#5. THEY WILL HEAL THE SICK. and they shall RECOVER !!

# A. And in #2 it says BAPTIZED and the GREEK word ( FOR WATER HYDOR is not. in the GREEK TEXT )

#B. AND WHAT GOSPEL WILL THEY BE PREACHING. ??

And has anyone seen the above seevvthat happen TODAY ??

Strict literalism doesn't do readers any favors

When we believe for example, that is healing, even though our bodies fail and will continue to fail to our end

To cast out demons also means "to reveal" them. How many do you see on a day to day basis in society? I see countless numbers revealed openly. I even take them up in myself from time to time via temptations.

People are clothed with the righteousness of Christ, does not equate to physical cloth
Sick people are sick internally, in their spirits. It does not have to mean physical ailments
People can be in prison and be walking the streets, freely.
People can be fed with the bread of the Word

And on and on the literalist only tumbles away, lost in the physical world only, never satisfied, never fulfilled

Are you saying some Christians in the first century did not speak in tongues, cast out demons take up poison snakes (Paul around the fire)?
This just does not apply to every individual.

These verses in Mark are for today. The healing revivalists in the 50s had healing lines such as the one described below. Are there still people being healed, delivered and speaking on tongues? Yes, in some churches. Remember too that Jesus could heal few in his home town. Just because everyone is not healed does not make the scripture untrue for today.

One of the most notable and longest recorded healing lines in Oral Roberts' ministry occurred during a crusade in
Goldsboro, North Carolina.

The Event: During a final service in a large hangar, where over 25,000 people had gathered, Roberts personally laid hands on and prayed for 10,000 sick people in one afternoon.
The Aftermath: The line was so long and the spiritual intensity so high that Roberts reportedly had to be carried out of the service afterward, according to accounts from his son, Richard Roberts.

I think this may apply to a future tense when Mark wrote this in 65 to 75AD. It seems to me that it can apply more than once and any time when Gods spirit is poured out as it was in the early church. That peoples faith becomes strong as a result of evil in the world and God pours out His sprit as a counter to this.

So it could happen in the future if the situations becomes like it was in the early church. Where people are reproved and their faith becomes strong that Gods spirit is working through them. Potentially this is the case. The bible tells us this can happen. It just needs to be the right time when I think such displays of Gods power are most needed.

Perhaps a reminder to the world. Perhaps a counter to the grave evil that has spread and is engulfing people. Its a spiritual battle and the dynamics can change regardless of human intervention. In fact I think in some ways all the culture wars has unleashed a demonic force into the world and I think most people know this.

It seems there was a threshold that was crossed where people are becoming hatful that they will ue violence and kill. Like the stable gate has been opened and the green light has been given to unleash hate and revenge and anger against people. People are not willing to stand back and forgive.

So I think a pretty big wakeup call is needed from God. Gods spirit will unleash some consequences and remind people that there is a God.

And TONGUES ceased a long. time ago. during Paul's MINISTRY which happened 1000. years ago. and PAUL wrote about

it in 1 Cor 13:8 and . I believe that TONGUES today are not TONGUES like what you will in 1 COR 13 :8 and

the LORD IN. MARK 16:19. the Lord had spoken. to them !!

These verses in Mark 16:9-20 are not found in the oldest and best manuscripts. They were added later. So, I would not base any theological doctrines on them. They simply are not in the original copies of Gospel of Mark in the first century.

The other poster is right. Mark 16:9-20 does not appear in older manuscripts including the codex Sinaiticus and the codex Vaticanus. As far as textual criticism the transition between verse 8 and 9 is quite abrupt. In addition the conjunction “now” which starts verse 9 is contextually useless since verse 9 does not link what came before with what comes next.

Both Eusebius and Jerome agreed that the long ending was an addition and warn that they should not be used in matters of doctrine.

2 Samuel 21.19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

The italicized words "the brother of" means they were not part of the OT manuscripts. This is the KJV translators' attempt to make the verse not appear contradictory. What this means is that the KJV added to the Word of God.

Just to clarify, there is no manuscript of a Hebrew original text that has the words THE BROTHER OF!!

This verse reads as follows:

And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

Did Elhanan kill Goliath or was it David? The answer is "it depends on which verses you read."

This contradiction has no human solution, but their is a good explanation, but no matter, it is still a contradiction among the OT manuscripts.

I am saying what you are saying, Rev 18-19 supports the view that Mark 16 9... should be taken out of the Bible. It was ADDED in the second century.
