  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm what the media has labeled a "Millennial."

Although I wish they wouldn't stick labels on everything and try to categorize everyone. They have a tendency to do that. It's annoying.

Can you believe in my day, they used to listen to music on something called a CD? Yes, I am that old. I remember I had a mountain of CDs with a purple pouch when I was a kid.

I wish I wasn't getting older, however.

Technology has far advanced since then I know. Nowadays we have Youtube.com...and more and more musicians are appearing...

Are you old enough to remember the time I am talking about? That's right, its the 1990s. I grew up in that decade.

Generation Alpha is probably going to think I am strange or crazy or something.

You young whippersnappers respect yer elders! Lol...

Well in 1990 you were just 2 years old i am sure you do not remember much then. So continue that age in 1995 your were just 7 around 1st grade. May now remember more, but still a small child.

So I was thinking in line with what you may remember and it would seem like you would have more memories from the years 2000+. your teenage years were spent in the 2000's that would be where i would think most memories would be.

I actually feel old. I understand why people before me hated their 30s.

It's the realization we're no longer young. The future isn't bright, it's gloomy and uncertain.

And some of us have had our eyes opened to what's going on.

My first car had an am radio and I added an 8 track player that I later replaced with a cassette tape player. Yep I’m that old. :sorry:

You're 38? Last time I was 38 was in 1996! That was . . . a long time ago.

People my age have gone from AM radio to vinyl records to cassette tapes to CDs to digital music (no thanks) and now the world is turning and going backwards to CDs and vinyl.

There's nothing wrong with getting older. I find that I enjoy being 67 more than I enjoyed being 27 or 37. If you live life with a good Christian attitude and try to do what's right, and ignore a lot of what goes on in the world when it comes to technology and all the noise that's out there, life can be good.

I’m feeling old at 69, but that is mostly health problems that are normal. Mentally, I haven’t changed much since 40, but it does take me a bit longer to learn new skills. Closing in on 40 was a time that was a little troubling. You are not old and not young, but you look at the future a bit differently and wonder more about life choices in ways you didn’t when 25. Don’t worry you have another 40 years or more, God willing.

Don't worry, they will realise that there are other people about who know what a CD is, and then they will just think you are older than them.

I noticed that I was getting older when younger people wanted to know about the excitement on the day my Dad came home with a colour tv. Then some years later I encountered a ten year old who did not believe black and white tv had ever been an actual thing.

Long before CDs and cassette tapes, my brother bought a reel to reel recorder. It was one of the most amazing things, and we would listen to and record things for hours. The most amazing thing is the short time that passed from that reel to reel and recording on a USB. Now people listen to music on their cellphones, but the music hasn’t gotten better.
