  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

That applies more widely than it being said here. When we are to judge things it is for knowing sin that we ourselves should not do. If we tell others what is sin we should have the passages to show that, if they who we would tell are also believers and somehow do not know of that. But much being seen as sin is not indicated as sin from the Bible and would be thought that way only from social values or values we learn from somewhere else. So it is not good to judge individuals, that is for leaving to God, who knows what is within all of us.

I do all I can to remember this, I speak for things that are better, including to remember what God said to remember in the Bible, to do as we can accordingly. And though I get responses telling me not to judge others as it is said that I do, I am not judging anyone with speaking of what is better, and I am not commanding even when speaking of what God gave in commandments. It is left for others to see whatever they will from it, as they live before God
I agree. In all of your posts I would say that you are not being judgmental even though there have been sometimes strong disagreements.

I see there are some on Christian Forums who are not yet learning ways to communicate without judgement or personal remarks, though these ways to learn that are not with those things are the Christlike ways in which believers should grow, the fruits of the Spirit would bring us toward that. It is a work to not come down to that level with them, that I am sure we should see.

I would say there is ignorance of things. Unless ignorance is deliberate there would not be any guilt in that. I include myself. I would certainly be ignorant of some things, actually many things, it is a huge universe. But there are things I can still learn, and however old I grow to be I still want to learn. And there are things to learn that can yet be for betterment. And things I am already sure about that there would be ignorance of among others I want to share. There just should be as much desire to learn that would be among others as there is with me. Where I am wrong about something still I want to be shown, it still needs to be with something convincing enough.

There can be the circumstance that wrong things were learned, and that can happen anywhere. Churches are not really inerrant and something that was wrong may be even learned there. Things learned with scripure passages might be wrongly understood from the context not taken into account... That I find to be pretty common. To be able to learn is to understand where we have learned something in error previously.

In the scriptures it's written in Proverbs 15: 28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer:
But the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things. 31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life
Abideth among the wise. 32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul:
But he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. 33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; And before honour is humility.

I will rephrase my question. Please answer it with either yes or no.

Do you believe that Hebrews 4 depicts Sabbath observance in terms of church attendance?
Acts 18:4 does saying that "Every Sabbath" Paul was preaching the Gospel in worship services , preaching to both gentiles and Jews.

At best, that would have been synagogue attendance. The development of the system of synagogues occurred in the century or so prior to the coming of Christ and, thus, postdates all of the Old Testament. There is not a whisper about synagogues in the Old Testament.

Thank you for answering my question, although your answer was incorrect.

Yes, I know. Why does everyone feel the need to explain to me what repentance means?

I plead guilty on that count. The reason I provided my explanation is both for yourself and others on this thread. There is a very common misconception that repentance means giving up sin in order to be saved. That leads to an ultimately frustrating and fruitless treadmill of working for one's salvation.

Its no misconception, its in our Bibles. It's not our work, its God's work in us if we allow Him to through faith and love John14:15-18 John15:4-10. We should not allow the devil who wants us stay in our sins, to be bigger than our God to save us from our sins, what He came to do Mat1:21

Pro 28:13 He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” [g]says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

John 8:11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

Have you completely and fully come to a point in your life where there is not a single sin that you commit or will commit?

This is not about anyone personally its about all of us and the promises of the Scripture. Sin is not something to take lightly or something we should be perpetually doing. We may fall from time to time and it should be painful because of what it did to Jesus on the Cross. When we go to Him and confess which means being truly sorry and seeking His help in overcoming, He cleanses us, He has so much mercy and grace, but He is also a God of justice. Exo20:6 James2:11-12 Rev11:18-19 The dangerous place is being comfortable in our sins and stop listening to the Holy Spirit convicting us of our sin and rebellion to God. Heb3:7-19. Jesus promises He has a people who overcomes and I beleive Him. Rev 14:12 Rev 2:7, Rev 2:11, Rev 2:17 Rev 2:26, Rev 3:5,12,21, Rev 21:7 Rev22:14

If it isn't about individuals such as yourself and myself, then who is it really about? Everyone else, but us?

I answered this in the post you are replying to. You made it personal about me, I said its about all of us. God is not partial Romans 2:11

Actually, because I have not yet met any person who has completely and totally repented of their sin, I was thinking that, based on your post, you might be the first person or, at least, could direct me to someone who could show me how to do that. At this point in my life, I am totally lost, having not fully and entirely repented of my sin. If you can't help me, then I will leave you alone.

I would imagine that's because its between them and God.

I can only share what the Scriptures say we are to do on how to overcome our sins. I am happy to share those Scriptures if you would like them.

Have you completely and totally overcome your own sins? If you have applied the Scriptures and it has resulted in full sinlessness, I would love to do the same. Unfortunately, I have read the entire Bible over 50 times and attended church my entire life and have failed miserably to totally overcome sin. I am completely lost and need your personal help. Thank you!

Do you beleive in the promises of the Bible that we can overcome sin through Christ?

No. No where in the Bible is there evidence of anyone, except Jesus Christ, who was without sin completely and entirely.

I John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

We have all sinned, why we need the next verse 1John1:9 but the Bible also indicted we can overcome. I already posted those Scriptures- do you beleive them?
