• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

To give some quick and non-explicit context, I'm a 38 y.o. man who's been diagnosed with cPTSD due to trauma here-&-there my entire life. It's often felt like I navigate life within a reinforced glass prison rendering unable to "connect"(by that I mean it almost on the level of a "vibe" if you will). Like, I can be there, laughing and joking with folks yet feel, "everyone else seems to have something deeper between each other than I'm capable of for some mysterious reason".
Is it just the residual PTSD-worldview, or is *this* the quintessential Christian experience existing here? Apologies if this isn't exactly clear.

I don’t know that all Christian’s are lonely. But I would take those thoughts captive as in 2Cor 10:3-5. Put them in jail where they can’t harm you. There’s no reason to think in those terms. So just take them captive, put them away a be free to live your life not under that crushing decision. And turn you attention away don’t make that decision just be yourself next time. If it happens again take it captive. Don’t give stuff like that attention and time to dwell so that it can get worse. I do it a lot for the past 25 years. Free enough. Pray about it for God to give you big power to have control over your thoughts. It’s a battle fight it with this. Don’t be afraid. And pray for more scriptures to help disprove the enemies games.
