This is our hemisphere and Venezuela was dealing with Russia and China including weapons and some facilities. Something we do not want in our neck of the woods. There were many reasons to get rid of Maduro. Let's hope the next one in line is more accomodating and less likely to be a problem. Otherwise they may find themselves being removed.

That's not what I recall. It's easy to find references to US involvement in coups and other things during this period. Just because many Americans forget about them doesn't mean the locals have.

Sadly, the US actions in Venezuela are more of an abberation in how blatant and transparent they are, more than in the substance. Maduro had it right, "Pirates of the Carribean" sums it up.

Yes, and it's sooooooooooo bad down here that we have to dismantle the oil industry and transport the oil to the United States before we can begin to tackle the drug problem.

No. I submit that removing a country's leader and demanding more changes or else is not a productive way to conduct foreign policy. BTW, I suggest you look up with Latin American countries have the most Chinese investment.....(hint, Venezuela is not in the top tier).
