  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

@2PhiloVoid Back in the day, I kind of ignored bands like Petra and Stryper, but listening to their interviews, I think they were genuine and sincere, and their music was good.

Back in the day, I honestly had to warm up to Petra but they grew on me. Stryper, on the other hand, zapped me the first time I heard them on a local Christian rock radio show because I thought, ".....who's that? They sound sort of like Motley Crue, but different...." And I was a Stryper fan from that point on.

I agree with you, despite whatever personal foibles they've had over the years, I think the guys in both of these bands are sincere in their faith.

Back in the day. Now, I'm just trying to enjoy what little will be left of these guys' creativity with the limited time they (or I) have.

I've been listening to a number of AI songs lately, and they seem to have some predictable patterns. The problem is that the following song has a lot of people believing that it's actually performed by real people, but it's not. The lyrics fit with the theme of the song, but they don't quite make sense. Still, the performance is probably better than any real performer could do.

Which leads me to wonder, even if AI performers don't take over the music industry, will AI sneak into the music industry in less noticeable ways. For example, will songwriting become AI driven, whether credited as such or not. And even if the performers on stage are real, will they simply be modern versions of Milli Vanilli?

Sorry folks, I think that AI will be taking over the music industry fairly quickly. You may resist the change, but the next generation almost certainly won't even notice the problem.

I heard that Christ Rea passed away recently. I was a bit surprised as he was not that old. Maybe around mid 60s. I was into his music around the 90s.

I lived in Chesterfield England and worked at Sheffield for a while where Rea comes from. I like his sone 'Steel River' about the steel industrry Sheffield is famous for.

I like his blues music and slide guitar. I play the guitar and love guitar based music. But Rea was also a story teller and you could hear the working class songs of a hard life. A husky voice full of rough timber and maybe Gin or whatever it is they drink on a cold bitter day. From memory it was Gin or Rum or Port lol. You need it to warm the bones.
