  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Enten cited a recent Gallup poll that saw Trump’s net approval rating sink to -24 percent from -1 percent in January. “We’re talking about a drop of over 20 points in the wrong direction for the president of the United States,” the analyst said.

The only president who was less popular than Trump at this point in his second term? Richard Nixon, who had an approval rating of -36 points just a few months before he resigned from office. “Anywhere you look this is the second-worst for a president of either party in their second term dating all the way back since the 1940s,” Enten said.

Trump's economic approval hits a new low at 36%, poll finds

During President Trump's first term, the economy was a relative strength of his. During the 2024 presidential campaign, his promises to lower prices in a country grappling with post-COVID inflation propelled him back into office.

But toward the end of his first year in office this term, just 36% of Americans approve of his handling of the economy, according to the latest NPR/PBS News/Marist poll. It's his worst mark in the six years that Marist has been asking the question.

Democrats are slightly more trusted to handle the economy than Republicans — 37% to 33%. That's not a wide margin, but it's a sharp turnaround from the 16-point advantage Republicans had on the question in 2022.

In addition to Trump's low approval for his handling of the economy, his overall job approval rating stands at a meager 38%. That's the lowest of his second term and the lowest number he's seen in Marist's surveys since April 2018.

I'm sure his 18 minute grievance-laden speech last night - blaming Americans for not recognizing his great economy - will bring the poll numbers up.

It was like a "fetivus for the rest of us" scene straight out of Seinfeld.

Obama was a warmongering war criminal.
Putin will never forgive him for the way he treated Osama bin Laden.
President Trump is a law and order protector of the nation.
Normally, a convicted felon and sexual predator isn't considered an example of "law and order."

But you see, they were lying about Trump because they hate America and the liberal Soros funded anti Trump judges convicted him in a sham kangaroo court with no witnesses and Trump wasn't allowed to provide evidence or have a lawyer present.

“They” were always out to get him, but he kept slipping through their traps!
Sometimes you have to break the rules to make newer better rules, and this poor schlub just happened to love his country so much that he’d take the heat “they” would dish out so that he could achieve Great Things!

(Overall the highest praise that I might muster is “Trump ain’t boring”.)

All those women and early teen girls are lying? The juries are lying? Because they "hate America?"

Well that's a testable belief...

Don't be so gullible.

Don't mistake parody and sarcasm for gullibility - think Colbert Report.

Perhaps between his bad poll numbers and to distract from the Epstein files, Trump is having his 'wag the dog' moment.
