CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A study published in the Lancet journal projected more than 14 million of the world's most vulnerable people could die because of the Trump administration's dismantling of the US Agency for International Development .

So you spend less than a third saving millions from starving each year than you spend keeping your pets fed. And you celebrate it when that money is cancelled? Explain the Christian morality aspect of that for me. I'm kinda struggling with it a little.
Something tells me that not many people know what the aid was in terms of GDP. I wouldn't blame anyone if they didn't. But if they were told is was around a miserly 0.2% and they still wanted it cancelled, knowing what it would cost in human terms then my opinion of them would likely reflect that fact.

....yea, why is the government providing housing to the military in the first place? Let the proud citizens of the USA demonstrate their patriotism by providing room and board to the U.S. military.

The old Democrat is coming out in Trump. Vance wouldn't have touched this (marijuana) with a ten foot pole.
I find it hypocritical. In reality, our week economy needs stimulus ever since 2008. COVID unemployment and now growing AI unemployment, and the country's unemployment has been trending upward since 2023, might require some form of UBS, or the economy implode.

So What. My dog is a family member, and we love her. In fact, I think I love my dog more than I love most people. If anyone has a problem with that, they can go pound sand.
