  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

SO HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE SAVED ??

Romans 8:33 Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. NKJV

Paul asks who will bring a charge against God's elect? He answers his question in the same verse, it is God who justifies. Then Paul asks who condemns us. Then He answers that question- it is Jesus. God the Father has granted all judgment to Jesus. Next Paul defines the love Jesus has for us. In verse 39 Paul states that no created thing can separate us from the love of God which is in Jesus.

John 15:1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. NKJV

Jesus is the vine and the Father, who is not a created thing, is the vinedresser. The vine dresser, the Father, separates all unfruitful branches from Jesus.

John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. NKJV

Jesus went on to say that we must abide in Him. If we do not abide in Jesus, we will be unfruitful, and the Father will separate us from Jesus. So, what work must we do to abide in Jesus?

1 John 3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. NKJV

If we keep the 2 commandments given in verse 23, we abide in Jesus. Anyone who abides in Jesus is the elect.
And 1. John 3:22. and 23 witten to thwb. BODY. of CHRIST and ONLY PAUL. , the Apostles to GENTILES has written

to. the BODY. and Peter says that. Paul writes things that are HARD to. be understood and Peter is not our Apostle

You say that only Paul wrote to the body of Christ therefore we are the body and not the Jewish believers,

Colossians 1:24 I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, NKJV

Paul said that His body is the church.

Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. NKJV

Jesus told Peter that he would build His church on Peter's statement. Then He gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Giving Peter the keys means that He made Peter the chief steward over His entire church, which is His body. The rest of His disciples were lesser stewards over His kingdom. Peter and the other disciples were in charge of His entire church.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. NKJV

The 11 apostles were told to make disciples in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They were to teach the nations to observe all things that Jesus commanded them. Everything that they (Peter, Mathew and John) taught, they were to teach to the church composed of all nations.

And we were CHOSEN. // ELECTED before the OVER THREW. OF THE WORLD in Eph 1:4. !!

And we were PLACED INTO CHRIST. in 1 COR. 12:13. !!

AND IN. 1 Cor. 12:15-17 we. are CHRISTS FEET , HIS HANDS , WE ARE HIS EYES , ARE HIS EARS , His SENSE OF HEARING

and his SENSE OF SENSE ''

Christ is God. Are we Gods? Will we sit at the right hand of the Father?

AND 1 JOHN 3:22 and 23 IS NOT THE BODY OF CHRIST as 1 John is. WRITTEN to ISRAEL. and not to the

The word of God has been my teacher. I do not hold to your doctrine that the only apostle that I am to be taught by is Paul. So, you say that gentile believers do not need to obey 1John 3:22-23?

I find it almost impossible to read and understand what you write?

Does loving all our neighbors also mean we can think they are going to burn alive forever?

Asking for a neighbor
1 John 3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. NKJV

Love one another in verse 23 is not love our neighbor. We do not have to keep any New Testament law to be saved.

John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." NKJV

Above is the second commandment in 1John 3:23. We are to love other Christians as Jesus loved us. As you can read verse 35 states by this all will know that you are my disciples, both the one loving and the one loved are disciples

Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. NKJV

Above is the OT law to love your neighbor as you love yourself. If we love Jesus, we will keep this one. If we don't keep it we will not be in the Spirit, and the Father will discipline us. We will not lose salvation.

Doesn't your church teach the bible? Do you read the bible?

C implies B Peter the chief steward over His entire church

Therefore C implies A. Peter the chief steward over His entire church, which is His body

That is your fallacious argument form above.

In your post #45 the part of my post that you were replying to was where I said if we keep the 2 commandments in verse 23, we abide in Jesus.

I had cited 1John 3: 22-23 which I will quote again for clarity.

1 John 3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. NKJV

And you asked: "Does loving all our neighbors also mean we can think they are going to burn alive forever? Asking for a neighbor"

Meaning you thought where John wrote "And to love one another" was the OT commandment to love our neighbor. That is not what Jesus meant when He gave us the new commandment. The new commandment He gave was given in the gospel of John 13:34. We are commanded to love other disciples of Christ as Jesus loved us. You did not know the new commandment that Jesus gave us.

The first commandment we must keep Jesus is:

John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 "I am the vine, you are the branches. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. NKJV

If we do not keep those 2 commandments, we will lose our salvation. We do not have to keep any of the old testament's laws or commandments to be saved. We are obliged to keep those laws to walk in the Spirit to keep living physically, not to keep our salvation

A implies B His body is the church.
C implies B Peter the chief steward over His entire church

Therefore C implies A. Peter the chief steward over His entire church, which is His body

That is your fallacious argument form above.
You got me. I wrote it wrong.

Love one another in verse 23 is not love our neighbor
That's pretty funny.
How many scriptural citings would you like for loving our neighbors as ourselves? I can count at least 10 citings in the N.T. alone, all stemming from the O.T. where there are several more

Even funnier it never made the cut of requirements of any creed

I asked if you believe our "unsaved neighbors" are going to burn alive forever or be permanently annhilated.

I don't believe either happens to our neighbors, so you have my answer. Where's yours?

Thanks for raising this important question. Many Christian Denominations teach that you can't be sure that you are saved, until judgement day.

But Gods Word reveals that believers can be sure of their salvation, in advance. If we believe what Gods Word reveals about the matter, then we can be 100% sure of our salvation.

Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
.

As we can see in the verses above, salvation is not a complicated set of requirements to fulfill in order to earn salvation, (as most Christian Denominations falsely teach).

God is not the Author of confusion, so salvation is extremely simple and anyone who simply confesses the Lord Jesus with their mouth and believes in their heart that God has raised Him from the dead, will be saved.

I love the simplicity and the verses and the promise of salvation. Notice there are no good works or keeping the law, required for salvation.
I believe the above, so I'm 100% sure that I am saved, the only way I could lose my salvation is if God lied and we know that's impossible.

And in. 1 John 5;18. SAYS that. whosoever is BORN. OF GOD. SINNETH NOT // OV. is a DISJUNCATIVE PARTICLE NEGATIVE

AND. that means you can NOT EVER SIN. , and you say you never EVER SIN. ??
I'll make the observation yet once again with you dan.

Were people the only agents in the equation there would be a problem for all of us because quite factually we ALL sin. Jesus said quite clearly that "evil thoughts" defile us. It's not optional and wasn't presented as optional.

Jesus also said that sin is of the devil. So did the Apostles.

So, IF you see or perceive this, WHO is the sinner in the equations? Are you going to continue to blame and accuse people, or are you going to see the other unseen party? Devils accuse people of sin and hide themselves from the equations. And they do so "in people."
# A Is this for TODAY. ??

# B Is it for the FOR THE BODY of CHRIST. ??

# C Is it for ISAREL. , yes it is for Israel , in. the GREAT TRIBULATION. !!

dan p
The "great tribulation" is when the tables get turned on the devil and his messengers.

It will actually be a quite glorious time for people.
