  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The IDF's war against Hamas has shifted from an offensive to a defensive battle as Israel waits to see whether Trump's ceasefire plan will lead to a disarmed and expelled Hamas.
Option 1 ceasefire

Option 2 offensive

One or the other.

As always, Israel needs G-d's intervention. What gives us courage and confidence is, for we have seen how G-d has consistently fought against Israel's enemies since 1948, and we trust that He will continue to do so.
Well, no need for US involvement at all then.

The world looks ahead, talking about ceasefires, reconstruction and peace initiatives. But in Gaza itself, what Hamas calls ‘internal cleansing’ is just beginning, the bloody attempt to regain control where authority has long since ceased to exist.

The blindness of many people in the West, especially their leaders, who believe that all nations see life as they do, is dangerous. This is a major weakness of President Trump, especially with regard to Israel's Islamic neighbours. Offering Muslims money and ‘peace’ to dissuade them from jihad is absurd, as it assumes that most Muslims are not truly committed to Allah and the Koran. Therefore, Trump's ceasefires, which he has imposed on Israel between it and its enemies, Hezbollah, Iran and, more recently, Hamas, are naive and presumptuous. The reality is that Israel is still at war with each of them.

Option two then, guess all the Israeli cheering and chanting the presidents name needs a retraction.

The IDF is the only force capable of disarming Hamas. The US or its Arab ‘allies’ cannot do this, and in fact, Arab nations openly refuse to do so. Israel has never asked for soldiers from other nations to die for it, only that allies support Israel so that the IDF can do its job. That is still all Israel really wants, but Trump strives to be known as a ‘man of peace,’ and so he ends up micromanaging Israel to enforce his terrible ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Well, not on its territory anyway.

G-d's plan for Gaza will prevail, regardless of what other nations or NGOs decide, even regardless of what Israel decides.

Lovely, I await the full disengagement of the US from the conflict as were unnecessary.

Israel is being cornered by US President Trump and his administration, who are essentially dictating what it can and cannot do in terms of its security. We pray for Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and his coalition that they will know how to lead G-d's people during this time and when to simply say ‘no’ to this American pressure.

Part of the first phase of Trump's peace plan for Gaza has been completed. All living hostages are now back in Israel; some bodies of hostages have also been returned, and some 2,000 "Palestinian" terrorists in Israeli prisons, including hundreds of convicted murderers, have been released to Gaza, Judea and Samaria. The war is far from over, but many inside and outside Israel believe otherwise. This is a terrible plan, especially since it invites Qatar and Turkey directly into Gaza, strengthening their evil influence. Saudi Arabia and moderate Arab nations are already pulling back because of this. Only by G-d's grace will Israel not have to pay an even higher price than if it had continued fighting until Hamas was completely destroyed.

It is shocking to see how Israel's most important ally treats G-d's nation like a protectorate or a 51st state. Trump has even threatened Israel that it will lose all US support if it annexes Judea and Samaria, which is currently G-d's will. In doing so, he has openly opposed what G-d is doing with all His heart and soul

Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul. Jer 32:41

Perhaps the most dangerous aspect of Trump's meeting with many Arab and some Western heads of state and government in Egypt is their expectation that his plans for Gaza will lead to the establishment of a ‘Palestine’ on G-d's land, which He promised to Israel. However, the Hamas massacre on Oct 7 has destroyed any possibility of this for the vast majority of Israelis.

The danger of Qatar, Turkey and Egypt working hand in hand with America to oversee the future of the Gaza Strip is very disturbing. The first two nations in particular are by no means allies of Israel or the US. Why Trump trusts them and why believers who are supposed to advise him do not warn him to at least show some concern is a great mystery to me. Nevertheless, this is an area for which the American congregation should be interceding. Our burden is for Israel and its response to all of this.

That the annexation of Judea and Samaria is currently God's will is a big call, and perhaps you might like to share some evidence that this is the mind of God. I would also remind you that historically, the Gaza Strip was not part of the land of Canaan. The current political state of Israel is the result of the resolution of the United Nations. Its survival has depended in part upon the significant funding and armament by the United States.

If Israel falls, the West will fall too.

Prime Minister Netanyahu promised that his country would fight even without assistance.

Even though many people today do not want to admit it, it is nevertheless true: the Gaza Strip also belongs to G-d's earthly people. It belongs to Israel. Gaza was part of the Promised Land that G-d had promised to the Israelites after their exodus from Egypt. The land was conquered by the tribe of Judah, but eventually came under the control of the Philistines.

The Philistines are called the ‘nation of the Kerethites’ because of their origin in Crete (Zep 2:5; cf. Jer 47:4; Amos 9:7; Ezek 25:16). This shows once again that they unlawfully appropriated the land in which they lived. It is called the ‘land of the Philistines’ because they appropriated it, but not because this was G-d's intention. It is the land of Israel.

The judgment on the Gaza Strip and its inhabitants will be final. It will take place at the end of the great tribulation. No inhabitants will remain. This people will no longer exist in the 1000-year kingdom. There are a number of passages that describe the judgment on this ancient enemy of the people of Israel. Here is a representative quote from Zechariah

Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited. And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines. Zec 9:5-6

The misery in the Gaza Strip is not only the result of Israeli defence measures, but also and above all of a totalitarian system that turns people into symbols instead of protecting them.

While the West talks about the Gaza Strip every day, the suffering in Tehran, Sanaa or Khartoum remains almost invisible. Hundreds of thousands of deaths, torture, hunger, displacement, no images, no outrage. Not because the suffering there is any less, but because it does not offer a convenient moral role to play.

Hamas fighters trapped in the Israeli-controlled area of Rafah in the Gaza Strip refuse to surrender and are threatening to break the ceasefire. ‘The enemy must know that the concept of surrender and capitulation does not exist in the dictionary of the Al-Qassam Brigades,’ the armed wing of Hamas said on Sunday.

The radical Islamic "Palestinian" organisation called on the mediators to find a solution to ensure the continuation of the ceasefire and prevent Israel from exploiting the situation to attack innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip. In addition to the US, Egypt and Qatar have been the main mediators in the war, which has been going on for over two years.

On Thursday, the Reuters news agency learned from negotiating circles that Hamas fighters could lay down their weapons in exchange for safe passage to other areas of the Gaza Strip. Egyptian mediators had proposed that the approximately 200 fighters remaining in Rafah hand over their weapons to Egypt and disclose details about tunnels so that they could be destroyed.

US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said on Thursday that the proposed agreement was a test for a more comprehensive process to disarm Hamas throughout the Gaza Strip.
