I know he can masquerade as an angel of light but can he masquerade as our Lord himself?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If he is that deceptive we stand no chance. He can’t imitate the Lords voice can he?

We can look back at history where people claimed Jesus Christ of Nazareth appeared to them and with reasonable deduction realize it can be a deception. Whether by the person's false claim or by the Tester ( Satan).

Actually, you are talking about the false prophet, aka the fake Jesus. He will fool many Christians. However, I think the false prophet is merely a demon masquerading as Jesus. He will be the Islamic Jesus.

He tells things to people so they think is from God all the time.
why do you think there is so many people that says 'God told me this and that' and to closer inspection those things were false or antibiblical.
But people that have discerment and the Holy spirit wouldn't let get cheated, the bible says to test every spirit if its from God or not
If a person has communion with God the person learns to recognize if things are from God or not.

Yes and he does. If you look into a lot of NDE's you'll find that Satan poses as God a LOT because the message is anti-biblical. Like, one where apparently Jesus says all paths lead to heaven.
He can and does, this is why scripture so many times says "do not be deceived" as well as "test the spirits" because if you don't test and you just auto assume this is the Lord because it's loving and kind and gives you warm fuzzy feelings, then the door is wide open to deception.
The way you test the spirits is by scripture (to start, once you get better at hearing God's voice, that helps too but you're still supposed to test). Understand God on a deeper level so you can pick out the fake. It's like, if you have a best friend, you know them pretty well and if someone comes along and tries to pose as them, you'd right off the bat go "uh... no." It's the same idea. Know about God, his nature, what he stands for, what he likes/dislikes, what he wants us to do and learn how to spot something that is leading you to a bad path.
For example: If someone turned up and claimed to be Christ and tells you "you're special, I love you just the way you are, sin and all", you reject that immediately because the point is trying to root you into more sin to where you would think it's okay to do when scripture is clear, God hates sin (Hosea 9:15 as an example).
Get better at spotting the bad fruits of the spirit:
Pride
Haughtiness
Envy
Jealousy
etc etc
This is exactly what "discernment" means. It's the ability to distinguish what is good, from evil and being able to point it out no matter the example so if any spirit comes to you, they won't be able to deceive you and you can say, "the point of this is trying to get me to be more prideful, so I reject it".

.... I suppose Satan could imitate Jesus, but I doubt he has the power to duplicate the miracles of Jesus Himself. Actual resurrection being one of those types of miracles, not just of himself, but also of other people like Lazarus.
So, I'm not very concerned, and with a yawn and a slight grimace, I turn another page of C.S. Lewis', The Screwtape Letters, for another re-read.

God is light, Satan is darkness.
God is Truth, Satan is a liar and a murderer from the beginning.
God gives life and is the Good Shepherd, Satan is the bad shepherd who came to steal and to destroy.
God is love, Satan is unable to love.
Every good gift is from God, every destructive, false or wicked thing is from Satan.
Satan hates God because he tried to rebel against God and failed. Jesus defeated Satan at the cross.
He may be able to replicate miracles, pose as an angel of light or do things to lure people away; he cannot BE light, life, truth, love and so on.

Don't forget this verse:
Satan deceives. He doesn't have to love you, he can fake it. That's what posing as light means. So he can show up and pretend to be God but if you test him, it'll become evident he isn't who he says he is. I have personal experiences of him posing as God to me and got upset when I figured it out. This is why Paul taught about the armor of God, to protect people against HOW the enemy deceives. If you accept any spirit that claims it's God, that isn't going to end well.

There are all sorts of masquerades, wolves in sheep's clothing. But Jesus said "Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” (John 18:37).
The masquerade will soon be revealed by what is said. It won't be true. Truth is the key.
