  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The thought occured to me with all the moral outrage and Culture wars over peoples behaviour and even what they believe and think as being wrong.

How its all focused on virtual signalling, being asociated with the right side of history. Identity politics which divides people into groups that moralise each other about wrong speak and behaviour and preaching how it should be. How everyone must think, believe and behave.

These seem to me the traits of the Pharisees. Who formed a group who looked down on other groups and even within their own religion. An early form of identity politics. But now we have political ideologies filling the void as well as religious ones. We see this in how even the church itself is divided into groups who claim to be the pious ones reflecting the wider society.

We have seen the rise of cancel culture and Wokism which is a form of religious dogma that pushes a certain moral code of behaviour but also thinking and demands that people bow the knee to it.

So the Pharisee mindset has been cultivated or has been allowed to flourish in a postmodernist world where there is no God and truth in Christ. .

If you consider this was one thing Jesus dispised which was the hypocracy of using religion or politics and rules to force people to conform to what was really the desires of a corrupt heart to be the gods of this world. Its another sign of how much the worlds hearts have turned away from God. From Christs truth.

Hive minds are problematic no matter the source. Including religion. Christians were told to seek the kingdom of God and its righteousness. But they’ve chosen to follow men instead and confusion is the result. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

Cancel culture and wokeism flow out of the feminization of society.

The Great Feminization | Compact
by Helen Andrews
--------------------------------------------
From the article:

This cancellation was feminine, the essay argued, because all cancellations are feminine. Cancel culture is simply what women do whenever there are enough of them in a given organization or field. That is the Great Feminization thesis, which the same author later elaborated upon at book length: Everything you think of as “wokeness” is simply an epiphenomenon of demographic feminization.

The explanatory power of this simple thesis was incredible. It really did unlock the secrets of the era we are living in. Wokeness is not a new ideology, an outgrowth of Marxism, or a result of post-Obama disillusionment. It is simply feminine patterns of behavior applied to institutions where women were few in number until recently. How did I not see it before?
--------------------------------------------

When women are given enough freedom they eventually take over. More women equals more power. More men at the top and bottom of society equals split power. This all takes time, but we are in the end-game now. At least in the US, women have had a hundred years to build power. And they have, quietly in the background.

If the religion of equality (wokeism) is the dominate religion in the West today, then Christianity must fit under its umbrella. Christianity must conform to the rules of equality, or else. Or else what? Christianity and its members will be continually attacked in various ways.

Interestingly, the religion of equality is the religion of atheists. When they pry people lose from Christianity those Christians float on over to the religion of equality. Here, the prying comes from systematic undermining (trolling) of ideas not conforming to the religion of equality.

Shunning predates cancel culture and wokeism and is practiced by religions traditionally led by men. Including Anabaptism, Catholicism, Jehovah’s Witness, Judaism, Baha’i and Scientology to name a few.

Jesus is the only one I will bow the knee too.

I'm sick to death of being asked my views on Trump.

People are using medicine and politics as their new religion. I am not them. They are not me.

Jesus Christ is King.

I don't care about anything else in the world.

I've removed myself from the organ donor list, I don't want blood transfusions and I won't give blood, I don't want annual medical tests and I don't care what Trump says, doesn't say, does, doesn't do, did, might do.....I just don't care!

I care about those who are lost, who need to be found and I care about me representing Jesus Christ while we wait for His return.

In short, I agree with you.

I pray that people continue to wake up and realize their idols are holding them back from salvation.

NEWS FLASH: The 1st century Pharisees were all men. And so were all of the Jewish Zealots.

If you're going to pull the 'everyone who doesn't agree 100% with me are all Pharisees or Women,' this could be an indication that you may need to do some additional, more expansive study of both the Bible and of World History.

Now, I'm waiting for someone to show up to tell me that "Masculization" of society is the antidote to "Feminization." The funny thing is, last I checked, the Bible said, and still says, "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..." This includes all men and all women. No one is exempt.

Somehow, I don't think that simply having men pick up the reigns today is going to solve our issues. There are other qualifying questions which also need to be asked, like: What kind of men (or women) are leading?

Additionally, while I don't have a problem with listening to and considering what women like Helen Andrews have to say on a scholarly level, maybe keep in mind that no one scholar or theorist is going to necessarily describe the whole nature of the many societal problems we all face today. If you think that one scholar can do this, then maybe be consistent and also cite the fact that Helen Andrew thinks Baby Boomers are to blame for some of the significant societal ills that Millennials and Gen Z gripe about so much.

I can give in to the temptation to look down on a hypocrite, and self-righteously judge the person.

I don't think Jesus looked down on the Pharisees when he called them out. Did Paul. Was it Paul who called the Pharisees or High Priests 'white washed walls'. I know he called out false teachers and sinners.

Can we call out lies or deciet without being a hypocrite. Is there a difference.
