  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Christianity is not about tradition or rituals or anything like that, you know praying to other god is a sin? idolatry and having other gods is a sin, so they open up a place so they can sin against God.

You are in the Catholic forum.

This has little to do with prayer and everything to do with academics.

Not at all. Jesus Christ of Nazareth commanded us to spread the Gospel in love. If we can't be willing to share the Gospel to the harvest in our own backyard then we are unfruitful vessels.

There is an on-going tension in this world between Truth and falsity. The coming to Life, and Truth, in one “man born blind” is illustrated in John’s Gospel chapter 9, sometimes understood to be about “The Man Born Blind.”

By God’s grace [Jn 9], this man was healed of his (physical) blindness through the Word made flesh, Jesus. The (spiritually) blind world, led by the blind, seeking to condemn and control other men (as usual), sought to force this man-made-whole physically to condemn and reject this miracle of God by rejecting Jesus, as they (the religious leaders) did. It came down to this: reject this healer, or be rejected by Us. The supreme penalty in this organized religious world was to be “out-synagogued.” Out of fear of this, his own family rejected him. The man himself, however, knew and stood faithful to the truth: this miracle (of gaining physical - and now perhaps sensing - also spiritual sight) had to be of God. And out-synagogued and abandoned, the man held firm in the fact, as indeed also in the Truth: and he could SEE.

And then and only then, Jesus found him and affirmed him:
Jn 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, "Do you believe in the Son of man?"
Jn 9:36 He answered, "And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?"
Jn 9:37 Jesus said to him, "You have seen him, and it is he who speaks to you."
Jn 9:38 He said, "Lord, I believe"; and he worshiped him.

The reasonings of this world concerning evangelization unto Life may be one thing; the wisdom of God, another. Jesus had to say to His just-delegated pope, Peter:
Mt 16:18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.
Mt 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Mt 16:20 Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.
Mt 16:21 From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.
Mt 16:22 And Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying, "God forbid, Lord! This shall never happen to you."
Mt 16:23 But he turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me; for you are not on the side of God, but of men."
Mt 16:24 Then Jesus told his disciples, "If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

The path to Life is hard and costly. We ought not blur the lines, but in our accompanying, clearly follow the path of love.

But dear sister Michie, everything that is, has to do with God. Anything that has nothing to do with God is the lie, having not even being.
This seems to be an example: The setting up of merchandise in the Court of the Gentiles - which should have been a place of prayer for them - was severely dealt with by God.
Mk 11:15 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons;
Mk 11:16 and he would not allow any one to carry anything through the temple.
Mk 11:17 And he taught, and said to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a den of robbers."
It seems that spaces in the Vatican ought not be safe spaces for activities contrary to the Truth of the Only True God, which Islamic prayer/worship, radically non-Trinitarian, is.
