  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm looking for a church. I like a fellowship with a large number of groups. Apart from studying the Bible. Members can go out together for activities or shopping, etc. There are churches of different age groups. A group where everyone can help each other. Please offer your suggestions. Thank you!

If you want a church with a large number of groups, that probably means you're looking for a large church -- several hundred members or more, rather than (say) 50-100 members.

What else are you looking for? Does it matter what their style of worship is (liturgical, or nonliturgical with a long sermon, or silent meditation, etc.)? Are there any doctrinal beliefs that are important to you? Anything else I'm not thinking of?

Your profile says you're nondenominational, and a large nondenominational church with a small groups ministry might fit what you're looking for. You could peek at the websites for a few nondenominational churches near you and then visit 3 or 4 of the ones that seem to be the kind of congregation you have in mind, to see if one of them is a good fit for you.

I enjoy sermons with a minister. I also like not necessarily the Sunday service. It can be done at another time. The doctrine is based on the principles of the Bible. The non-denominational or non-sectarian doctrines enable the members of the congregation to help one another. Pay attention to the daily lives of the members. And some entertainment activities. I used to attend a church and I spent my time as a volunteer. However, as time went by, people did not enthusiastically welcome the new movements. Just exchanged greetings in a polite manner upon meeting. I don't even know the names of others or anything else. People only get along with those they are familiar with. No one offers to be a friend to a newcomer. Finally, I realized that I didn't have a single friend in the church. No one ever thought of helping me build friendships. When I have problems, I don't know who can help me. I feel very lonely in the church. So I want to look for a new church.

When I have problems, I don't know who can help me. I feel very lonely in the church. So I want to look for a new church.
Pray to understand and receive from God what God Shows in His Word and His people: (particularly notice what is totally or almost always missing today)

"Jesus of Nazareth, a Man accredited and pointed out and attested to you by God with [the power to perform] miracles and wonders and signs which God worked through Him in your [very] midst, just as you yourselves know--

23this Man, when handed over [to the Roman authorities] according to the predetermined decision and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross and put to death by the hands of lawless and godless men.

24But God raised Him up, releasing Him and bringing an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in death’s power.

25For David says of Him,

‘I SAW THE LORD CONSTANTLY BEFORE ME;

FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN [from my state of security].

26‘THEREFORE MY HEART REJOICED AND MY TONGUE EXULTED EXCEEDINGLY;

MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE [that is, will encamp in anticipation of the resurrection];

27FOR YOU WILL NOT FORSAKE ME and ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES (the realm of the dead),

NOR LET YOUR HOLY ONE UNDERGO DECAY [after death].

28‘YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE;

YOU WILL FILL ME [infusing my soul] WITH JOY WITH YOUR PRESENCE.’

29“Brothers, I may confidently and freely say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30And so, being a prophet and knowing fully that GOD HAD SWORN TO HIM WITH AN OATH THAT HE WOULD SEAT one OF HIS DESCENDANTS ON HIS THRONE, 31he foresaw and spoke [prophetically] of the resurrection of the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), that HE WAS NOT ABANDONED [in death] TO HADES (the realm of the dead), NOR DID His body UNDERGO DECAY. 32God raised this Jesus [bodily from the dead], and of that [fact] we are all witnesses. 33Therefore having been exalted [d]to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured out this [blessing] which you both see and hear. 34For David did not ascend into the heavens, yet he himself says,

‘THE LORD [the Father] SAID TO MY [e]LORD [the Son],

“SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,

35UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A [f]FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET.”’ 36Therefore let all the house of Israel recognize beyond all doubt that God has made Him both Lord and Christ (Messiah, Anointed)--this Jesus whom you crucified.”

The Ingathering

37Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart [with remorse and anxiety], and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what are we to do?” 38And Peter said to them, “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is for you and your children and for all who are far away [including the Gentiles], as many as the Lord our God calls to Himself.” 40And Peter solemnly testified and continued to admonish and urge them with many more words, saying, “[g]

Be saved from this crooked and unjust generation!”

41So then, those who accepted his message were baptized
;

and on that day about [h]3,000 souls were added [to the body of believers]. 42They were continually and faithfully devoting themselves to the instruction of the apostles, and to fellowship, to https://biblehub.com/amp/acts/2.htm#fneating meals together and to prayers.

43A sense of awe was felt by [j]everyone, and many wonders and signs (attesting miracles) were taking place through the apostles. 44And all those who had believed [in Jesus as Savior] [k]were together and had all things in common [considering their possessions to belong to the group as a whole]. 45And they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing the proceeds with all [the other believers], as anyone had need. 46

Day after day they met in the temple [area]

continuing with one mind, and breaking bread in various private homes. They were eating their meals together with joy and generous hearts, 47praising God continually, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were being saved."
... ... ...
... ... ...
Now the company of believers was of one heart and soul, and not one [of them] claimed that anything belonging to him was [exclusively] his own, but everything was common property and for the use of all. 33And with great ability and power the apostles were continuously testifying to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace [God’s remarkable lovingkindness and favor and goodwill] rested richly upon them all. 34

There was not a needy person among them, because those who were owners of land or houses were selling them, and bringing the proceeds of the sales 35and placing the money down at the apostles’ feet. Then it was distributed to each as anyone had need.

I like my church Seventh day Adventists, we keep the Biblical Sabbath and worship on Saturday as the example of Jesus Luke4:16 and apostles Acts 14:42 Acts 13:44 Acts 18:4. Depending on the church most will have a Wednesday night Bible study and Friday night vespers. There are individual men's and women's ministries as well.

On a personal note, when I moved I had to go to SDA several churches before I found the right one for me. Most SDA churches focuses on the word, but sadly some have deviated.

I wish you well finding the right church! Always verify if what our pastors are saying is in our Bibles. Ask God for His guidance!

Try to find a church with multiple children's programs and activities and volunteer to assist with them. Those kind of activities usually result in everyone (parent or not) interacting with each other more often.

I hope you find the right church! May God bless you!
