  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Voice of the Martyrs prayer requests.

Militant Fulani herders attacked two villages in northwest Nigeria’s Kaduna state earlier this month, killing eight Christians and wounding nine others.

Please pray for all those who have been affected by this raid.

Local resident Timothy Kimbe said herdsmen attacked Wakeh and Gadanaji villages in Kachia county in the early hours of Sunday, September 7.

In neighbouring Plateau state herdsmen have attacked 11 villages in the Qua’an Pan area, burning more than 30 houses and displacing at least 300 Christians, since late August, sources said.

Russian pastor sentenced

Moscow pastor Nikolai Romanyuk has been sentenced to four years’ imprisonment in a labour camp, for disagreeing with Russia's military actions against Ukraine.

The 63-year-old church leader was arrested last October after speaking out against the war.

The Balashikha City Court also imposed a three-year ban on Romanyuk administering websites. He intends to appeal, although his daughter said, ‘We all understand perfectly well that there will be no fundamental changes.
Pakistani believer bailed

Pakistan Christian Maan Shaukat Masih has been granted bail after being accused of blasphemy.

It is rare for those facing such allegations not to be kept in detention, so we thank God for the ruling of the magistrates court in Lahore.

Pray that charges against the 25-year-old tailor will be dropped. He was accused of tearing down a banner inscribed with the names of sacred Islamic figures after a religious discussion with a number of Muslims in the street.
Pray that God would comfort all those in Wakeh and Gadanaji villages who lost loved ones in the attack on September 7. Ask God to heal the injured and traumatised and to grant believers across northern and central Nigeria wisdom to know how to respond to the relentless violence of militants.

· Pray for peace, courage and hope for pastor Romanyuk and his family, and that they would remain strong in the Lord.

· Thank God that Maan was granted bail and pray that charges against him would be dropped.
