  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

New belief among teenagers. What do you think?

I think you missed the context of my above response. OBVIOUSLY, Christians are called to admonish any brothers and sister in Christ for any sins in general.

However, what I was addressing with the previous poster was the left leaning defense implying that Christians in a democratic society have no business whatsoever to address the sexual sins of other people, even of other Christians.

So, you need to reel back the false targeting and reduction of what it is you merely think I said. What I'm addressing does not come out of "an obsession."
Fair enough.

I would argue MANY christians have a strong focus on such things but....yes, you were certainly on topic. But in this context, it would make sense you addressed it....where it is being discussed.....again.

What percentage of the population is laying out their sex lives to believers? I’d posit the number is small within the church and outside of it. And what constitutes as acceptable can get murky. Or have we forgotten the scandal with Mark Driscoll’s Real Sex book? The bulk of the debates were over oral and anal practices and they couldn’t agree. Because their opinion is based on their interpretation of the scripture and comfort zone. If you believe certain acts are sinful and the other doesn’t now what?

But, on the other hand, since you dared to bring it up, it's not a secret that I'm all for verbally and analytically crushing the Philosophy of Hugh Hefner and its various commercial and psychological effects on society, wherever they may be found.

I’m not a fan of corn either but people like it and that isn’t going to change. And christians love it too including the ones with spouses and partners. Which suggests a lack of fulfillment elsewhere. So perhaps it’s time we learned how to discuss intimacy maturely without pointing fingers and casting judgment. That just drives them elsewhere for the same. They have nowhere to turn to ask questions including those concerning right and wrong. And I know because we’ve conversed many times.

No...not just for a "select handful of sexual endeavors"...we are called to do that for any brothers and sisters who are falling. IF someone falls into a gambling addiction, if someone is beating their wife. If someone is a bully or habitually unkind.

What is the obsession with sexual deviance?
it is the ways "of the world" for the first. which we are to not engage in.
It also have opening doors for entities by the uncleanness of it.
lust for example is what we should stay away from, according to the word.
unclean practices too
when I was not with God I saw enough of these practices. I saw what it did to others. It was not positive, and it lead to addictions. Sexual deviant practices form connections in the brain. other connections, than the usual. It makes you crave more and more of the deviant. Very soon, you do not want the usual. It feels boring and dull. you shun normal common intimacy! it becomes more about your wants and needs, about lust and pleasure. This is what it does to the brain. this is why those who practice sexually deviant things want more and more and go worse and worse. because they don`t get their fix any longer so they need more. the pleasure centre goes dull. pleasure? we should stay away from chasing pleasure according to the bible. and I think this is the reason. I also saw people getting possessed or oppressed because these open doors.

according to the exorcists, "P" opens up doors for demonic activites of different kinds. He said he knows many won`t listen, but that they see it all the time. He said 90% of the church practice. It is a huge problem for the church. AND it takes away from what your spouse should have had, and the view of the other. and classed as adultery. as Jesus said, what you watch.
Right. He said it. if you look at another with lust in your eyes you have commited adultery. there you have it he said it.

well.. Paul said and listed things we should stay away from, things we do not inherit the kingdom by practice/living in it/living in sin and how we should deal with it. not be unloving but warn, and if someone keeps doing it living in it to have nothing to do with them, warn them and love them recieve them if repent but etc. this is the bible. think about how Jesus warns about the same things and the church of laodieka.

I've been waiting for someone here to realize I wasn't referring to 'corn' when I mentioned the Playboy Philosophy proffered by Hugh Hefner. His magazine is simply a symptom of the actual malady of 'bad philosophy.'

I addressed this more than once before 2019.

His killing is what led him away from God. Anybody can say they love God (even the devil says that much). You are kind of mixing apples and oranges here. Something is good if it leads you to God and being led to God means doing His will and obeying His commandments (Thou shall not kill).
Still waiting for a WORKABLE standard that can be applied across the board.

If you can't accept what I gave you then there is no standard for what is good and what is evil for you non-believers, so good luck. You don't have to wait anymore because that's all she wrote, folks  .
