I need to pull weeds, lots of them again, in my flowerbeds.

And I have a big project along the side of the house. The neighbor has climbing vines all over the side of their house. These vines are like some kind of monster, living creature! They just grow and grow and spread and spread! :eek:So they have 'climbed' over the fence, across the small division between our two properties, and want now to climb up the side of my house and consume it! o_O

Tomorrow I go out to tackle them ... the weather will be alittle cooler. I'll show them who's boss!!!

Good luck with that. :herb:

I ventured into the heat the last couple of days -- had a slight cool-down and some rain -- and pulled out the remainder of my beans and squash. Still have some okra plants but they're mostly stem. I'm hoping they regain some life before fall comes.

I tried to cut back my irises last week but a snake scared the wits out of me! Just a ground snake about a foot long, but still...

There's a house around the corner from ours, next block, that has what looks to be English ivy growing all along one side and up and around the chimney. Looks like it's going into the chimney but hopefully not! Would scare me to death to have it, grabbing into the mortar between bricks with its little roots.

Our next door neighbor has trumpet vines, they've been there for longer than the 29 years we've lived here. They've consumed the electric pole in the corner of their yard by our fence and sprouts come up everywhere. You can't get rid of them. And they don't try.

Live, from the Land of Lithium: My grass is yet again too wet to mow with my battery-operated special. I’m hitting the high spots with the weedeater.

Have given up on battery operated yard tools. Our weedeater got to the point that it only lasts about 5 minutes, so we went back to a corded one. The blower battery still seems fine but the blower itself can't be turned off, we have to pull the battery off to shut it down, so we went back to a corded one there also. We've used an electric corded mower for years. It takes a little longer to mow dragging the cord around, but it works fine.
