The great Martha’s Vineyard pierogi caper entered its ninth day as Alan Dershowitzcontinued to lay verbal siege to a food vendor who denied him Eastern European dumplings.

“I don’t approve of your politics,” he claimed the “bigoted vendor” told him.

After an acrimonious exchange, a police officer arrived on the scene in an interaction that was posted to Instagram. [IIRC, he was trespassed out.]

[He's tried a couple more times and has left the field of battle pierogi-less.]

On Thursday, the former Harvard Law professor escalated matters when he accused the vendor’s supporters of backing Hamas.

"Many of the people who came to support [the pierogi vendor] were the same people who had protested Israel after October 7th. ... So, it’s very much a Hamas-supporting group that is supporting this pierogi vendor."

This reminds me a lot of all the outrage over a bakery refusing service.

"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" was deemed completely unacceptable.
As you probably know, that doesn't extent to refusing people from members of protected classes solely because they are members of protected classes.

A public business can turn Dersh away for his politics, but they can't turn him away for being Jewish.
So you can't turn someone away for being Jewish or LGBTQ, but you can turn someone away for being a Conservative. Okay. I wonder if how well it would go over if someone opened a doughnut shop that had a sign saying "NO DEMOCTRATS ALLOWED".

Also since what you said negates the sign you posted that says "we reserve the right ro refuse service to anyone", why did you post it?

Only in jurisdictions where LGBTQ is a protected class. It isn't in many places.

They're a dime a dozen. Here's one

The owner of a diner that denied entry to Biden voters said it became so popular they ran out of food

Because that is the form of the sign that has been passed down by our sainted ancestors, whom we venerate.
