Economist Milton Friedman argued that the massive Welfare Bureaucracy system in place in Canada and the USA was terribly flawed and needed to be replaced.

Dr. Friedman argued that replacing the Welfare System with Unconditional but Taxable Income Supplements would be the way to go because if these income supplements were dependent on somebody simply being a USA citizen or legal resident but have zero connection to their last year's income or last month's income, then very little bureaucracy would be needed.

I believe that women who choose to have an abortion often do so due to economic pressure and the stigma of facing life in our economy as a single mother.

I believe that a high percentage of abortions would probably be prevented in America and Canada set in motion Unconditional but Taxable Basic Minimum Income style Income Supplements.

We need more details of how this would work. Is this enough to cover the cost of pregnancy/child birth, which can be very expensive in the US, enough to cover childcare, enough cover additional cost of a child- healthcare, food, clothing? Will it be enough for mom to take 3-6 months minimum off work to take care of the newborn?

The proposed five hundred dollars per month per citizen, is definitely NOT enough for a single mom or for a disabled person but it will shift the USA and Canadian economies away from PESSIMISM toward Optimism. In Canada with forty one million Canadians this should result in the Canadian federal deficit being reduced by Twenty Bill Dollars Per Month because after that five hundred dollars per month per person turns over four times in our economy it is taxed back into the treasury and will become a Cash Cow for all three levels of government.

Three Canadian economists explained how elected officials have been manipulated into believing a falsehood that the Deficit is good in the sense that it justifies elected officials doing nothing very significant. The names of those three economists were Harold Chorney, John Hotson and Mario Seccarrecia.

This is a hot topic that can get the attack dogs of the Ottawa Swamp out to destroy the career of an economist so by joining forces these three economists decreased the probability that the Ottawa Swamp could get them all fired.

The creation of money

“One of the most pervasive myths about the government deficit is that governments which spend more than they receive in revenue must borrow the difference, thus increasing the public debt.

“In fact, a government can choose to create the needed additional money instead of borrowing it from the banks, the public, or foreigners.

“Business and the conservatives in politics and the media are horrified by the suggestion that the government exercise its right to create more money. They claim it would precipitate another ruinous bout of inflation.

“But money creation is money creation — whether by a private bank or the Bank of Canada. And a government in debt only to the government's own bank is not really in debt at all. If it wants to go through the rigamarole of having the Treasury «borrow» from the central bank and later pay interest, that is a minor matter of bookkeeping. As long as the central bank's profits are returned to the Treasury, the results are much the same as if the Treasury had created the money itself.

“There is no reason why the growth of Canada's money supply (averaging about $22 billion annually in recent years) could not be more substantially created by the Bank of Canada. If that policy had been followed, the federal government would not have been obliged to add to its debts to pay interest on old debts. Instead, the Bank of Canada has produced barely 2% of the money added in recent years, while the chartered banks added the rest as they made loans to households, businesses, and all levels of government. At the very least, the Bank of Canada and the chartered banks should share the privilege of creating money on a 50-50 basis.

“Those who dismiss such a proposal as «inflationary» should be required to explain why it would be more inflationary for the government's bank to create $11 billion and the private banks $11 billion, rather than the present practice of having the government's bank create $0.7 billion and the private banks $21.3 billion!

“Clearly the current problem of the Canadian government's deficit is not its absolute size, or its size relative to the GDP, but the insane way it is being financed. A return to the policies of the World War II era, when the Bank of Canada produced almost one-half of the new money at near-zero interest, would do wonders for the economy, while greatly shrinking the deficit... The first order of business for a post-Mulroney-era government must be to regain effective control of the Bank of Canada and make it the primary source of money creation.

“It is ludicrous for the government to put billions of dollars into circulation by borrowing from the private banks, when it can create the extra money it needs, virtually free.

First we must expose the misconceptions that have led to BigMedia being so able to put Americans and Canadians into pretty extreme Pessimism regarding our economies. Many of us are expecting "Bear Market 2025 to 2030?"

Stats, from the past, showed that abortions slowed down when a Democrat President was in office. This was attributed to better economic conditions for women than when Republicans held the office.

What about praying, sharing Gospel with someone considering abortion, or guiding them to Christ and teaching them to follow Him?

Absolutely!

But every expecting mother is only human and studies support the theory that worries over money and being able to support their baby, play a huge role in at least twenty percent of mothers who decide to terminate their pregnancies.

No, a pittance will not address the economic motivations for some abortions.
But for a family of four that would be $2000 per month which would usually pay the mortgage. The most important thing in my opinion though is to verify what many have felt was the major lesson taught by the President Abraham Lincoln Greenback Monetary Policy Experiment.

[Melvin Sickler] :

During the Civil War (1861-1865), President Lincoln needed money to finance the War from the North. The Bankers were going to charge him 24% to 36% interest. Lincoln was horrified and went away greatly distressed, for he was a man of principle and would not think of plunging his beloved country into a debt that the country would find impossible to pay back.

Eventually President Lincoln was advised to get Congress to pass a law authorizing the printing of full legal tender Treasury notes to pay for the War effort. Lincoln recognized the great benefits of this issue. At one point he wrote:

"... (we) gave the people of this Republic the greatest blessing they have ever had -- their own paper money to pay their own debts..."

Lincoln printed 400 million dollars worth of Greenbacks (the exact amount being $449,338,902), money that he delegated to be created, a debt-free and interest-free money to finance the War. It served as legal tender for all debts, public and private. He printed it, paid it to the soldiers, to the U.S. Civil Service employees, and bought supplies for war.
Shortly after that happened, "The London Times" printed the following: "If that mischievous financial policy, which had its origin in the North American Republic, should become indurated down to a fixture, then that Government will furnish its own money without cost. That govern-ment must be destroyed, or it will destroy every monarchy on the globe." In retaliation

After this was published in "The London Times", the British Government, which was controlled by the London and other European Bankers, moved to support the Confederate South, hoping to defeat Lincoln and the Union, and destroy this government which they said had to be destroyed.
....
In 1972, the United States Treasury Department was asked to compute the amount of interest that would have been paid if that 400 million dollars would have been borrowed at interest instead of being issued by Abraham Lincoln. They did some computations, and a few weeks later, the United States Treasury Department said the United States Government saved 4 billion dollars in interest because Lincoln had created his own money.

Quite frankly, I don't see this small stipend would be as satisfying to the powers that be whose policies filled with chaos, fear, and even some squid game-like danger seem to satisfy their need to punish.

The book I am studying suggests that prayer has greater influence than financial resources. However, some Christians may not be as proactive in praying for others or in sharing their faith and spreading the gospel. As a result, there can be a tendency to rely more on governmental support or intervention.

We are talking about abortion.
We have seen how ineffective the "thoughts and prayers" of NRA-financed legislators are after school.shootings.
I find the "thoughts and prayers" of the pro-life lobby to be similar. Pro-life shouldn't cut funding for education, food and healthcare for poor children.
When the Americas were colonized, missionaries unintentionally brought deadly diseases that decimated native populations.
Prayer shouldn't be a cop out for people to feel good about themselves.
$500 is a drop in the bucket.

I totally agree with your statement that five hundred dollars is a drop in the bucket but I already know that many pro-life people would have a fit if I had used the number one thousand dollars per month for this proposed "Unconditional but Taxable Basic Universal BAsic Minimum Income Supplement" for all Canadian citizens and all USA citizens and legal residents.

From many of your posts, it seems that you identify as a Catholic. The Catholic Church considers abortion to be a sin. My question is: which approach would be more effective—providing financial support to a young woman so she avoids an abortion, or encouraging her to accept Catholicism and follow its teachings?

Are you viewing abortion as a moral issue ( sin) or a financial one? If it's financial, offer support to prevent abortions. If it's about morality/sin, focus on prayer, guidance, and teaching.

I believe that it is a moral issue but one part of the problem is Christians putting a very low valuation on saving one unborn baby from being aborted.

I know that I know that I know that if I had used the number 999 as opposed to 500 I would have offended a very high percentage of zealous church going Christians.

We Christians also do not seem to believe that a significant percentage of An Unconditional but Taxable Basic Minimum Income Supplement would help churches to assist the homeless...... drug addicts... .alcoholics.... victims of the sex industry....... and would even assist in financing the outreach to all the world that must happen before Zechariah chapter fourteen can happen.

You may notice that 999 is 666 turned upside down?

Many of the world's problems are a result of a lack of prayer. Those who support abortion need to start pitching in to help those in need.

Good point!

And if we have a lot more faith and confidence our efforts will be multiplied like loaves and fishes.

On the other hand Daniel, Hananiah, Azariah and Mishael did accept their promotion to positions of rulership in the BAbylonian Empire and it is important for Christians in the USA, Canada and in any democracy to vote. Our being Pro-Life should affect our vote.

If I had kids I would want more the 6 thousand a month, free health care for myself and my future kids. I would also want to live in a very upper class neighborhood. So, they can have a better school. The best way to prevent abortions is more education of birth control. And better access for anyone, that need BC to get them free, or through insurance.
