Seriously.Yes it is a choice, but its the only choice they can make.
You cant see what is thereCan't see what isn't there.
Yes its the only choice they had, they couldn't come either for lack of ability Jn 6:44Seriously.
Do you hear yourself?
Choice;
- The act of choosing; selection.
"It is time to make a choice between the candidates."- The power, right, or liberty to choose; option.
"The teacher gave me the choice between taking an exam and writing a paper."
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
What Jesus is saying is that no one can receive salvation without Jesus. Jesus is the door. Jesus is the gate. Jesus is the way. Only through Jesus can we be with the Father.44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
He's saying no man has the ability to come to Him.What Jesus is saying is that no one can receive salvation without Jesus. Jesus is the door. Jesus is the gate. Jesus is the way. Only through Jesus can we be with the Father.
We are drawn by the love of God displayed through the life and teachings of Christ, but it is certainly a choice.
If not, explain this parable:
The Parable of the Great Banquet
15 When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
16 Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’
18 “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’
19 “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’
20 “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’
21 “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’
22 “‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’
23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. 24 I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’”
No. He was saying that no Jew had the ability to come to him. He was speaking to Jews. Gentiles did not have the calloused hearts that the Jews had. The Jews had a long history of rebellion against God which was the major reason why they could not come to him. They were set in the ways of their religiosity. Even Calvin unwittingly admitted to this. He's saying no man has the ability to come to Him.
All scripture is God breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof and for correction. No matter who Christ was talking to, it is applicable for all. Jews are not the only ones with their hearts hardened towards God.No. He was saying that no Jew had the ability to come to him. He was speaking to Jews. If it was there, you wouldn't need to resort to the lame defense about not being able to see it. You'd be able to point out where it was.You cant see what is there
Its the truth, unfortunately you cant see it, and nothing I can do about it, you at the mercy of God. Go back and read my op and other postsIf it was there, you wouldn't need to resort to the lame defense about not being able to see it. You'd be able to point out where it was.
The scripture has been posted numerous times, and it states it in ultra clear language. If you don’t see it, that’s because you can’t see it.If it was there, you wouldn't need to resort to the lame defense about not being able to see it. You'd be able to point out where it was.
Unrelated Scripture to the one in question have been posted, which he adds a restriction that isn't present to.The scripture has been posted numerous times, and it states it in ultra clear language. If you don’t see it, that’s because you can’t see it.
Here’s what Jesus says about it, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
If it were present, you'd be able to explain where it was. Not just lamely go on about how I just can't see it. There's no asterisks on the "all" in my Bible. Its the truth, unfortunately you cant see it, and nothing I can do about it, you at the mercy of God. Go back and read my op and other posts
Explaining cant help you, Ive been explaining since the Op and you cant see anythingIf it were present, you'd be able to explain where it was. Not just lamely go on about how I just can't see it. There's no asterisks on the "all" in my Bible.
You've offered no explanation, only appealing to verses that are not present within the immediate context of the verse in question. And even those are being twisted out of their original context. So your lame appeal to things that are not present is nothing.Explaining cant help you, Ive been explaining since the Op and you cant see anything
Those are activities of people already saved and giving evidence they are in a saved state. Now if you are making belief and confessing conditions, in Vs 9 they are in the active voice, they are performing, then you are teaching salvation by mans performance , works. They are actually good works of the already saved.Romans 10:9-13 (KJV)
9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
