Certainly the same word, "pray" is used in English for making entreaties to other people, but the Greek word used in the New Testament, "proseuchomai", in the 82 times it occurs, is only used for addressing God.
Okey doke, which Greek form would I be using to say "Holy Mary, Theotokos, pray for us sinners"?

Sorry, I don't see how that follows from my post. Are you saying that the Greek word Theotokos occurs in the New Testament? Where? Certainly "Holy Mary, Theotokos, pray for us sinners" is not a prayer that we find in the bible.

Plenty of prayers are not found in Scripture, but that's for another topic.

Yes, but if we want to learn what prayer is, and to whom we should pray, we look in the bible. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, His pattern prayer is a prayer to God. All the prayers in the bible (except of course, for the recorded prayers made to false gods, like "O Baal, hear us!" on Mount Carmel) are addressed to God.

No recognized organization? Matthew 16:18? And the book of acts make it clear the Church is a “recognized organization.”

The church built on the rock that Jesus Christ spoke of is the body of the believers who are in Jesus Christ with the truth of the gospel. All the body of the believers who are in him does not correspond to an organization such as what your church is. The church in the book of Acts does not correspond to it either. Many things can be pointed out showing that too.

It so much more convenient to develop a neat bureaucratic organization rather than having a spiritual organism composed of living stones.

Amen, the church was a community where all shared in common and the Love and Life of Jesus was being manifest.

Those who Jesus raised up to lead were not in want because of this.

The World seeing this was God's powerful way of attracting His chosen to Himself.

There was no need for Real Estate or stipends or flashy performances to attract them.

Jesus love was what was attractive - It was powerful. Those in the world either loved or hated it as the Word of God (Jesus) divided between Spirit and Soul.

Jesus renamed Simon as Rock: "Thou art Rock and upon this Rock I will build My Church."

I urge people not to do so and instead join the Church that Jesus established--the Catholic Church.

the Catholic Church.
Why does the church described in Acts not line up with the Catholic Church of today? It's pretty apparent that they followed the "apostles" doctrine" and it was God that added to the church "daily", not man. It's up to him regarding who is a member of the church or not. It can take some people years to become a member of the Catholic Church. That's a huge red flag. It might have started out with good intentions but it is so far removed from the church that was started by the disciples/apostles.

"Today if you will hear his voice..."

The "source and summit" of our faith is very much the same as it was in the first century, we follow the command of Jesus to "do this" in remembrance of Him. As to "membership" in the Catholic Church there is no one definition, believing what Jesus and the Apostles taught is really the key, so someone who is converting and intending to receive the sacraments could be considered a member of the Catholic Church.

Sorry, are you saying that the Psalmist was praying to angels, when he wrote, "Bless the Lord, O you His angels?" But perhaps I have misunderstood your post.

A psalm which does speak about praying to God, and God hearing prayer is Psalm 5:

“1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation. 2 Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. 3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.” (Ps 5:1-3 NKJV)

The Psalmist is indeed addressing the angels in Heaven.

But he is not praying to them. I am addressing you in this post, but I'm not praying to you. Prayer is more than just addressing somebody.

Yes, prayer is more than just addressing someone. My point is that if we address the angels we are communicating with them, and they can hear us. Why address or urge the angels to do anything if they can't hear us? There are prayers of intercession, praise, petition, and thanksgiving besides contemplative prayer. Not only do we pray directly to God, we also can ask those on Earth and in Heaven to pray for us and with us.
