Could these skins be made from Aerogel - Fire & water resistance.
I'm gonna have to go with David on this one. The sacrifice was the shedding of blood (Hebrews9:22), and that of an animal. In my opinion, it was a lamb, just like Egypt and passover, and all passovers, and just like Christ the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. I don't know for fact it was a lamb, but I think I would bet my lounge chair in Heaven on it.

In Hebrew, the concept of "giant" is conveyed through several words, most notably Nephilim (נְפִילִים) and Gibborim (גִּבּוֹרִים), with Rephaim (רְפָאִים) also referring to a race of giants. While "Nephilim" is often translated as "giants" and is linked to the Hebrew verb naphal (to fall), suggesting "the fallen ones" or "those who cause others to fall,"
The initial description carries the most weight according to the law of first mentions, but to each their own. Therefore nephilim sets the stage for the following terminology. Apple trees produce apples. Fig trees produce figs. Fallen angels produce fallen ones.

Yes, I agree. I hope you didn't think I was saying they died out with the Flood.

As for Jesus not being called a Jew, He was called the Lion of Judah, and as far as His human nature was concerned He was from that tribe, so He was a Jew. But that's quite different from saying, "The Nephilim were giants, so all giants are Nephilim." That's rather like saying, "Mice are rodents, so all rodents are mice."
Where did these giants come from? Why don't we have them now?

I reckon God wiped them all out with Goliath being the last one.
Goliath had four brothers

In the course of time, there was another battle with the Philistines, at Gob. At that time Sibbekai the Hushathite killed Saph, one of the descendants of Rapha.
19 In another battle with the Philistines at Gob, Elhanan son of Jairfn the Bethlehemite killed the brother of Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver’s rod.
20 In still another battle, which took place at Gath, there was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—twenty-four in all. He also was descended from Rapha.

And didn't David cut Goliath's head off and bury it in Jerusalem at Golgotha ?

Yep.

It was a common practice for a king to decapitate the head of his enemy, and then stick it on a pole high on a hill, where many people could see it. The fact that David brought Goliath’s head to Jerusalem was quite an astonishing fulfillment of ancient prophecy. But to where in Jerusalem did David bring Goliath’s head?

One clue is the connection between the name “Goliath of Gath,” and Golgotha. The name of Goliath of Gath is a name derived from the two words “Gola Gatha.” One can say fairly confidently, that David took the head of Goliath (the head of the serpent) and after displaying it on a highest hill in Jerusalem for all to see, buried it in a place called Golgotha, still known today as "the place of the skull."

When David took Goliath’s head back to Jerusalem it would have been considered unclean and against Jewish law to bring a stinking rotting head into the city. The head had to be buried somewhere outside of the city, as gentiles (non-Jews) were considered unclean. The head of Goliath was a trophy of war and would have been displayed on the highest hill in the area. Golgotha was the highest point on Mount Moriah just outside of the city gates, overlooking Jerusalem, so that God’s people could look up and see God’s enemy has been destroyed.

David buried the ‘head’ on a small mountain next to the city, Golgotha - the place of the skull. Whose “‘skull’? And, which prophecy?

GENESIS 3:15 [snip] He shall bruise your head,

The cross on that hill!! Crushed Satan’s head!

Hebraic (Bible) prophecy is not a one off ‘prediction’. It is always pattern. There can be multiple partial or even ‘whole’ fulfillments. What David did (knowingly or unknowingly [by inspiration?]) was set up to allow for a future ‘picture’ at the cross of what would happen in the times of the end.

At the time of the written records that were made. Making babies is so easy that people do it by accident all the time, as selfish desires help in the process. I personally wouldn't draw a limit at four in my own estimations and I think David and his men killed many more of them following the famous 1v1 battle. Written records often cover only a portion of all the details or extent of a situation. (John 21:25)

2 Samuel 21:16
And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David.

2 Samuel 21:18
And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant.

2 Samuel 21:20
And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.

2 Samuel 21:22
These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

Why don't we have them now?

Goliath was 9 ft. 9 in. The tallest man in modern history was 8 ft. 11in.

I suppose it depends on how tall a person has to be to be classified as a giant. Granted we don't have people over 9 feet tall now, as Goliath was. But we do have very tall people. I understand the tallest man in the world today is almost 8 feet 3 inches tall. A Google search shows that there are 2,800 people in the world today who are over 7 feet tall. They would be considered giants, I imagine.

Yes, and at that it was a different kind of giant. It was not as much of a blessing as many people perceive it to be for him, and was a case of gigantism. Wadlow was a human.

Robert Wadlow's condition caused him an early death at the age of 22 years old and health complications leading up to it. The giants we are referring to in the Bible are not human beings with gigantism and their shoulders likely displayed prominently through great width the extent of their genetics being the reason for their incredible size.

In other words, these were fast, strong creatures that were mutants made by the fallen ones. There have been attempts by some in the ignorance of modernity by individuals who cannot fathom the frightful sight of a giant who could easily kill them, to describe these beings as slow, awkward, clumsy, frail, and even going as far as claiming they likely had poor eyesight and other senses. These faulty fabrications are caused by the arrogance instilled within a man when he thinks highly of himself and needs to feel superior to the subject that he is speaking about to a crowd of people, as a frail ego cannot admit that things exist that could quite easily destroy him if it were in his presence.

The opposite is true of these giants recorded in the Bible. They were anything but clumsy, weak, slow, or awkward and they were highly intelligent. This makes what God done through king David and his extremely fierce men all the more astonishing. These were not mere mediocre men that managed to pull off a few great feats of brave valor with God's help "in spite of being normal." They simply were not normal men to begin with and God made them strong and fierce in their time for a purpose.

Consider these accounts for example:

2 Samuel 23:8
These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-Basshebeth the Tachmonite, chief among the captains. He was called Adino the Eznite, because he had killed eight hundred men at one time.

2 Samuel 23:18

Now Abishai the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of another three. He lifted his spear against three hundred men, killed them, and won a name among these three.

2 Samuel 23:20
Benaiah
was the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man from Kabzeel, who had done many deeds. He had killed two lion-like heroes of Moab. He also had gone down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day.

1 Samuel 17:36
Your servant has killed both lion and bear
; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.”

If Josheb killed 800 men in one battle all by himself, how many men did king David kill throughout all his battles over the course of his life? King David also stated he killed a lion and bear, and Benaiah also killed a lion.

Now, I know there are a lot of men that would like to think highly of themselves in believing they could "easily" kill a bear or lion without a high powered rifle, and only a sword in their hand... but it isn't as easy to do as it is to say. To add to this, I don't know if king David had a sword when he was tending sheep and killed the lion and bear, and the account of Benaiah doesn't reference any sword, though I personally would suppose him to use one if he had it, or a spear.

Even then, we know that these kind of men existed that could kill lions bare-handed, as we have the account of Samson doing so long before kind David's time:

Judges 14:5-6
5So Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother, and came to the vineyards of Timnah.

Now to his surprise, a young lion came roaring against him. 6And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.

----------

The skulls and bones of the giants were on display in Israel, during Josephus' day in the first century and are described by him as a "terror" and resembling nothing similar to humanity:

Antiquities 5.125 So they moved their camp to Hebron, took capture of that town and massacred all therein. There remained still a race of giants, who, by reason of their huge frames and figures in no way like the rest of mankind, were an amazing spectacle and a tale of terror to the ear. Their bones are shown to this day, bearing no resemblance to any that have come within men’s ken.

The Bible mentions a giant with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot in 2 Samuel 21:20 and 1 Chronicles 20:6, described as being "twenty-four in all". This individual was a descendant of the giants or the "sons of Anak" or "Rapha".
