Putting my dog to sleep.

Please pray to give me and my wife strength during this difficult time. We have to put our dog (Jessie) to sleep, because of debilitating arthritis. We have had her on a variety of meds and therapies for over a year, but it has reached the point where she can no longer walk and has lost interest in food. She hasn't wagged her tail for months. It is just very hard and sad for us. Thank you.

About 20 years ago I had to put down the sweetest, fattest Blue Healer mutt that ever lived.
It broke my heart.
I know how painful that can be. My heart goes out to you.

So sorry to hear that, jacks!

A couple years ago I lost my "son" to old age (our cat).

It tore me up inside.

But rest assured, you'll heal in time.

It's the right thing to do, for Jessie's sake; and God, who is the God of all comfort, will help you in this difficult time.

Put her down today. Sad stuff! The vet was very good and said "It's very hard on you guys, but best for Jessie."
Thank you everyone for your prayers. It may be contraversial, but I like to think she is now in doggy heaven. They are such sweet souls.

My deepest sympathies, jacks!

I remember coming home from putting our "son" down and there was his food bowl in the corner.

You can imagine our reaction!

Seeing his toys, his food bowl, his hair, his collar ...

There are many people who have had near death experiences, some of them were not near death, but actually experienced death for as long as 85 minutes to an hour and a quarter. (Dean Braxton is a good case.)

People who have such experiences often report that they saw their beloved pets in heaven. And guess what? They could talk!

The Bible does show animals talking in heaven, in the book of revelation. For example, an eagle is seen flying around issuing a verbal warning.

I pray that you will find comfort and maybe find another dog before too long to comfort you. There are so many who need homes.

sorry this is late, I hope you are doing okay. it's never easy letting go of a beloved pet but you are doing the right thing by Jessie ❤️
