Helen De Cruz was a Belgian philosopher, specializing in philosophy of religion and cognitive science. I have similar interests and appreciate her work on awe and wonder in scientific discovery.

This is her appearance on Closer to Truth in which she discusses evolution and our conceptions of human progress/peculiarity:

This is her entry "Religion and Science" in SEP (mostly concerned with compatibility/incompatibility):

I recently watched a short course on liturgical diversity. An odd sideline to the course was how evolutionary theory way predated Darwin and was first applied to matters literary and liturgical, and textual criticism was a pre-Darwin evolutionary theory. Just tracing and trying to reconstitute the Carolingian liturgy from the Mozarabic liturgy for Charlemagne’s grandson was a prime example of evolutionary theory that later was applied to biology.
