In an explosive allegation, Elon Musk — amid a real-time escalating feud Thursday with President Trump — claimed that Trump is “in the Epstein files.”

Musk, in a post on his X social media platform, wrote, “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!

lmao “explosive allegations” like we didn’t all know this already.
Well, I think most were familiar with the "Trump hung out with Epstein on the reg" allegations.

I think the "explosive allegation" descriptor was meant to pertain to this part:
@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.

Yeah we all figured it was because Trump is likely incriminated in those logs as well that his justice department has been dragging their feet on this. Trump himself practically gave it away when asked about releasing the Epstein files in an interview last year.

We’ve been knowing this.

Will this get "the libs" to start buying Teslas again? I doubt it.
You never know, people have forgiven and forgotten things way worse than Elon has ever done.

If people were still giving Roman Polanski awards and watching his films (and winning Oscars while still in exile no less), listening to Michael Jackson songs, supporting the actor Mark Walberg, etc... etc... (you get the picture)

There's a chance that 5-10 years down the road, they could be driving Tesla again.

Heck, when I go to Beachwood (which for those who aren't familiar with Ohio, it's a city outside of Cleveland that has a population that's 94% Jewish), I see quite a few Mercedes Benz and BMWs cruising around, and the clothing stores are well stocked with articles made by Hugo Boss.

Wanna take a random guess at who those brands were aligned with? (they all supported the Nazi war efforts and used forced Jewish slave labor)

So if the Jewish community can eventually get over the fact that a product was associated with the entity that committed arguably the worst atrocity in human history trying to eliminate them, and buy their stuff a few decades down the road... I think (and hope) the progressives would be able to get over the fact that Tesla was briefly aligned with a politician they didn't like.

People didnt cancel back then like they do now. Those works made it into the culture before the door could slam shut.

Yeah I could see 5 or 10 years. But wow that is still quite a price to pay in the fast moving EV market. Not to mention the hit to demand overseas.

Germany really did bend over backwards to show contrition. And it took decades and probably many different people were in place. I dont see Musk or Trump for that matter doing contrition. But 5 or 10 years? Maybe. We can hope politics wont be so red hot and tribal as it is at this moment.

What a soap opera.
...I don't know...I'm kind of enjoying it.

We know it was going to happen eventually, there always seems to be bitter feuds and trash-talking when it comes to Trump. He hasn't had a stellar track record when it comes to keeping political allies and cabinet members for very long.

What makes this one rather unique, is that Elon (love him or hate him) is equally eccentric, has more money than Trump, and has connections in the tech world that can give him the ability to "fight back" in ways that perhaps other Trump associates haven't been able to do.

I'm envisioning a scenario in which Elon gives congressional members the ammo the need to impeach Trump again, and then all of the sudden he becomes the "golden boy of the left" once more.

Not sure if that's likely, just saying I'm envisioning it lol.

Rule of thumb, don't mess with your IT staff...they often "know where the bodies are buried", have the receipts, and have it encrypted and backed up in several different locations. ;)

Soap operas are supposed to be entertaining. And you just gave the perfect recipe for one. They're usually centered around a feud between two powerful bosses.

Roman Polanski continued making films and winning awards long after the controversy.

He drugged and raped a 13 year old in 1977 and went into exile.

He ended up getting awarded 3 Oscars for the Pianist (made in the early 2000's) and wasn't able to be present to accept the award because if he ever comes back to US soil, he'll be arrested.

And has won film awards as recently as mid-2010's. (which means he was winning awards during the same era as Trump's first election that was causing a tizzy)

Mark Walberg committed 2 hate crimes and blinded a Vietnamese man in the late 80's.

Obviously he's gone on to a lot of monetary success since then.

As one poster on social media wrote: They've each making their little posts on their personal web sites.

Could happen; won't happen.

It should give you mirth. Unlikely things are funny.

We'll see if Elon's little gang of IT bros scattered throughought government and stealing data make it to COB tomorrow. [The purge.]

I dont recall people getting so wound up about artists and their creations as they are about politics now. Heck they even found their way to play Wagner in Israel. Well ok.... there was "disco sucks".

Will the libs ever visit a Trump resort? Probably not in this life. Musk is a wild card though. Perhaps he could surprise us.

Speaking as an "IT Bro", and having worked with "IT Bros" for 2 decades, anything that they thought would be advantageous as a later date to hedge certain bets, has already been secured lol.

Firing them tomorrow won't make a difference,, if they're any good as "IT Bros", anything of consequence that could be leveraged as a "Okay boss, fire me, but I want a nice severance package...or else" was already taken care of.

I know I've got my "make sure I get a fair severance if they ever decide to can me" provisions in place.

Although, perhaps my 3 beers I've had this evening is making "talk out of school" lol.

"Cancel culture" is often dictated based on convenience in most cases, and often doesn't involve a lot of resolve.

If you've noticed, many of the cancellations don't seem to "stick" if it's a widely popular product/offering.

Liberals quietly went back to getting Chick-fil-a
Conservatives quietly went back to going to Disney on vacation
Even Kid Rock went back to drinking Bud Light after shooting cases of it in his backyard

1749173980298.png

(why? I don't know, there were plenty of good reasons not to drink bud light apart from the reason that made him mad)

If people genuinely enjoy a particular product or what they see are the benefits of a product, they'll go back to it.

I've always been critical of the people who did the superficial boycotts despite enjoying the product. Like the people who would order from a pizza place that they admitted was inferior and that they didn't like as much, but because they thought they were proving a point by ordering one from someone who agreed with them politically.

I don't get that...there's people who agree with me politically but suck at what they do, I don't have to pretend their product is better based on some metric that has nothing to do with their product.

I think the illegally exfiltrated data is fairly widely known about.
Firing them tomorrow won't make a difference,, if they're any good as "IT Bros", anything of consequence that could be leveraged as a "Okay boss, fire me, but I want a nice severance package...or else" was already taken care of.
Is that one of those severance packages as a guest of the BOP?

It looks to me like Musk has put himself in the position of being disliked by the left and now the right. I wonder how many on both sides view this as backstabbing.

If I used X I might respond to Musk's post with something like: "Way to go Elon, now everyone hates you".

None of all this was ever as hot as the fire directed at maga stuff. And the problem with a car is your people have to see you in it day after day after day! You cant just scarf it down like a fil-A and move on.
