Sounds kind of like what the man at the pool of Bethesda did for 38 years.
Even Jesus said if he wanted to get well he needed to Do Something.
Jesus tells me if I want to save the world from certain disaster I need to invest myself into working for the mandatory change it would take.

"Dawning of Awareness" I wish.

I still think that Trump validates and normalizes our own most selfish and petulant urges. So dawning of awareness about him is also dawning of awareness about ourselves. Sometimes that never happens. Usually it is a slow process.

It is truly astonishing that 70 million USA folk voted for a convicted felon that tried to criminally steal the 2020 election and caused an insurrection.

You could perhaps lobby your local government representative to tell them you are not happy with things the government is doing, like taking the economy and stock market, destroying relationships with allies etc...

Is it surprising? There's probably 70 million Americans who have or have had a family member convicted of a felony.

Are you familiar with Spiral Dynamics? It can be very enlightening as to what is happening. A small percentage of Americans are at a green level of consciousness (John Lennon's "Imagine", UN Development Goals, Greta Thunberg, etc.), but most are several lower at blue (traditional religion, law and order). Our President is actually even lower, at red (power, legendary heroes), which had its heyday in the Bronze Age.

The thing to know about the Spiral is that lower levels see the next level up as nihilistic, and the next tier down as stupid or evil.
