A review of what the New Testament says about the Great Babylon

Revelation 18:8 For this reason her plagues will come in a single day,
death and mourning and famine,
and she will be burned up with fire;
for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”

Many of the Jews in Israel experienced the fires of the Holocaust and WW2. China experienced horrific famine, Russia has seen incredible mourning. There is no other superpower that can claim to be the glory of Earth's kingdoms other than the US that this word can apply to. The reason that her plagues come in one hour is because she is so powerful and so hated that all the nations conspire to take her down in a huge surprise attack. Much bigger than Pearl Harbor, much bigger than 911. At this point this cannot refer to Iran, how could you get a surprise attack at this point? The US and Israel have been fighting all the Islamic nations in the middle east either directly or through their proxies. The only country right now sitting at ease in unwalled cities is the US.

9 And the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning. 10 They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say,

“Alas! Alas! You great city,
you mighty city, Babylon!
For in a single hour your judgment has come.”

This is not saying every king, only those that committed sexual immorality with the US. No one would say this about China or Russia or even England. They certainly would not say this about Israel. Look, the UN is virtually unanimous in condemning Israel for fighting back against Hamas who brutally murdered them, took hostages, did horrific acts and shoots mortars into Israel all the time. If Israel were destroyed in an hour none of the Kings of the earth will weep and wail. The same is true of the UK. People would be horrified, sure, and there would be many nations that would be very angry about this. But the bloom is off that rose and has been since WW2. No, if the US is destroyed in an hour that means the US stock market goes to 0 in an hour, it means everyone holding US debt loses everything. These kings commit sexual immorality, they live in luxury, they don't care about the Americans who are killed and maimed. They are weeping and wailing over the loss of their portfolio. The rulers and kings of this evil and adulterous age have a reptilian brain, they don't weep and wail over other people's suffering, they weep and wail over the things they lose. Also, what does it mean that they are saying "Alas, alas! You great city for in a single hour your judgment has come"? It means they see that as a threat. If that great and mighty city could fall in an hour, what about them? Right now the entire world sees the US as a great and mighty power. If they fall in an hour, what about their country, what about their lives?

14 “The fruit for which your soul longed
has gone from you,
and all your delicacies and your splendors
are lost to you,
never to be found again!”
15 The merchants of these wares, who gained wealth from her, will stand far off, in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud,

You can stand afar off from the US because of the oceans surrounding us. You can't stand afar off from Israel, or the Vatican or England. Yes, England is surrounded by water, but people have swum across the English channel. They have a tunnel under it that connect London to Paris. In this day and age no one considers that to be "afar off". The merchants stand afar off, not because they have been tormented but because the Great Babylon will no longer be able to buy their stuff. Again, referring to the US and not Mecca or Medina or the Vatican.

16 “Alas, alas, for the great city
that was clothed in fine linen,
in purple and scarlet,
adorned with gold,
with jewels, and with pearls!

This is one of the verses that those who think this is the Vatican use. The Pope's and Cardinals are dressed in purple and scarlet. But they aren't adorned with gold, jewels and pearls. In the US we have religious leaders of several denominations as well as the Catholic church that are dressed in purple and scarlet. But we also have 49% of the world's Jews whose priests dress in fine linen (by law they cannot wear wool or have the linen be a blend). There are no Jews in the Vatican. In the US we have prosperity preachers who are adorned with gold, jewels and pearls. This verse does not in any way describe the Vatican or Israel. Yes, it does describe the royal family in England and yes it does describe the religions in the US. But it most definitely does not describe Mecca or Medina.

17 For in a single hour all this wealth has been laid waste.”
And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off 18 and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning,

All the shipmasters? The US is on the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Arctic ocean and Gulf of Mexico. All the shipmasters from East, West, North and South come here. The Vatican and Israel are in the Mediterranean, that would never be "all the shipmasters".

There's no need to evaluate theories "based on" scripture, but is defined by Scripture.

God sees the WHOLE WORLD as Babylon the Great but why? Because it is Satan's Dark Kingdom of Deception over Mankind !! Babel = Confusion, and what and apt description of human beings, so confused they try to fight their own loving Creator. Thus when Satan falls, Babylon the Great will fall.

Now, I cam go over why Babylon is used, it became a name used in place of Rome, the world Greece etc. etc. because using Rome or the whole world would have been seen as the Romans as sedition by the church and they would have confiscated the letters of Revelation, and killed them for saying Rome/World was going to be judged, so God used Babylon, when the Romans saw that the laughed. these goofy Christians do not even know Babylon is a Dead City. Likewise God used the Women (Revv. 12) and the 144,000 (Rev. 7 & 14) both for Israel/Jerusalem who Rome had destroyed in 70 AD.

Babylon in Rev. 17 is used as 1 of 3 Descriptors, nothing else, its used to describe who the Harlot is. It was never MYSTERY Babylon, it was MYSTERY.......then 1.) Babylon, 2.) Mother of Harlots and 3.) Abominations.

MYSTERY ( as in a question mark)

1.) Babylon the Great (Babylon was world renowned for its FALSE RELIGION)

2.) Mother of Harlots (FALSE RELIGION was the original Harlotry against God)

3.) Abominations of the Earth (God hates all FALSE RELIGION, he is a Jealous God)

This gives us the ANSWER to who the Harlot is, she is ALL FALSE RELIGION over all time on earth. The Harlot [False Religions] rides the back of the [Government] Beasts in Rev. 17:7. They were comingled. But the last Beast and his 10 Kings (Complete E.U. Reunited) kills off the Harlot, but why? Because the last Beast thinks he is god and demands all men worship him as GOD, there is no place in his kingdom for Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jupiter, Zeus or any god.

Now we can move on to Revelationnn 18 which describes the WHOLE WORLD getting pelted with God's plagues over a 1260 day period of time.

In vs. 2 we see Babylon (world) has become a Habitation of Devils/Demons. Well of course it has, Satan was cast down to earth and Apollyon and his demons released from the Bottomless Pit. In vss. 4 we see God telling Israel to come out of her (Babylon/World) lest she receives of her plagues. So, this is Israel (the 1/3 who repents at least) fleeing Judea into the Petra/Bozrah mountains.

In verses 8 & 10 we get two huge clues also. Babylon will fall in ONE HOUR and in ONE DAY. Well, both mean 1260 days, how so? Read Rev. 17:12, the 10 Kings rule ONE HOUR with the Beast who we know rules for 1260 days and the Day of the Lord (God's Wrath) we know lasts for exactly 1260 days.

The rest o the chapter is just PROSE, describing Satan's Dark Kingdom on earth, ruled by Greed & Lust, getting Judged by God. He just uses a one city reference, but of course its the whole world being judged.

I view prophecy as fractals. I have no doubt that at the time John was writing this referred perfectly to Rome. It is way too good a fit to not be a reference to Rome. But 2,000 years later it is not. Yes, if you want to describe a spirit or prince of the air that has been operating. in the sons of disobedience what you saw at the time of ancient Rome is the same thing we see today.

But this is why we need chapter 18. The whole world, especially the merchants of the world and all the ships, will not be mourning if Rome is destroyed. The idea that Rome is a great city that rules over the whole earth is a joke. Even if you want to say that is a reference to the Vatican it is still a joke. The Jews and Muslims and Buddhists are not ruled by the Vatican. Even the idea that the US, a Christian nation, is would outrage 80% of Americans.

However, if we view this as fractals and Rome is on seven hills and the US is on seven continents, and Rome ruled the Meditteranean and the US rules the seven seas, well then it fits.

In Revv. 18 THAT CITY is Babylon, the holy spirit pinged me and told me to relook at the blog I had just written saying it was Rome (LOL....Rebuked by the the Lord) so I had to take down my blog, relook, then redo it. The Lord was like "Ron, the vision John "sawest" (saw) was only four verses, from 3-6 relook at it"

When you understand that, you can grasp God is making a point about who the Harlot is, Revv. 17 has nothing to do with Babylon, its just used as one of Three Descriptors like I stated. Ig you are tryin to identify a Harlot you don't use Rome, you use Babylon, its always been world famous for its harlotry.

Chapter 18 then describes the other side of the two sided coin, the Government Beasts, being judged. The 10 kings judge the Harlot false religions. The whole 7 hills has always been a very bad misnomer, hills and mountains in the bible stand for kingdoms. Not 7 hills in one place. They were Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome AND the coming Anti-Christ/Little Horn/Beast. There were 7 kings, 5 have fallen, ONE IS (Rome) one is not yet come (AC). God is showing us there are 7 Kings in full (Mountains)

So, Mountains (Kingdoms/Kings) ARISE and FALL. 7 will Arise, 5 have FALLEN and ONE IS (Rome) and one is NOT YET COME (AC) and an 8th King who is OF THE 7 is a Demon named Apollyon, he has no kingdom on this earth, thus he is not the Revv. 13 Beast who has CROWNS on the 10 horns (E.U.) nor is he the Red Dragon who has CROWNS on the 7 heads in Revv. 12, thus in Revv. 17 the Scarlet Colored Beast or Apollyon has NO CROWNS on either the Heads nor the Horns. He is thus of the 7, Satan placed him over the Mediterranean Sea Region until God locked him into the pit for the duration of the Church Age thus he WAS...........IS NOT...........YET IS. I have heard this simplistic drivel by others. I do read the Bible and this is very precise. They see the smoke of her burning. These are not spiritual people, they are kings and merchants, this is not some spiritual fire. They stand afar off, that means there are still places on the earth you can stand afar off from. Therefore this is not some allegory of the Prince of the Power of the air, or of a spiritual Babylon, it is a place, like the US where the rest of the world can stand afar off from. This place has a great city and a great wealth. Some countries have great cities, but not great wealth. For example the UK. London is a great city but the UK no longer has great wealth. Some places have great wealth but don't have a great city. So this narrows it down but this says that all who travel by ship, all who earn their living by the sea will weep and cry out. So that eliminates Rome, and the Vatican and Israel, etc. China certainly has great wealth and a great city, but they are not on the Atlantic ocean. Their burning would only affect half of those who earn their living by the sea. All who had ships on the sea became rich through her wealth. That narrows it down to the US. The US is the biggest trade partner for both the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans.

(We see 1/3 of the WHOLE WORLDS trees burn, now I think the 1/3 is a DESTINATION, the New World only gets hit by the Rev. 8 Asteroid Impact, and the Pacific Ocean it hits in just off California covers 1/3 of the earths surface while the New World has roughly 1/3 of the worlds Landmass. But God will juddge the Old World with different plagues)

11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her(The BURNING WORLD); for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: (Well, of course not, they are now all HIDIING in caves or DEAD, the world has lost her freedom to love evil, and many of her clientele are dead)

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

IN HER was found the blood of [ALL] the Prophets & Saints which can only be the WHOLE WORLD, not ONE CITY. You have to understand God's Prophetic Prose my friend. Jesus spoke in parables so his disciples hearing could understand, but so the world hearing would not understand.

One verse destroys your whole thesis my friend, Rev. 16:19 is God telling us WHO Babylon the Great is, the KINGS OF THE WHOLE WORLD. Its simple stuff.

You have too much invested in the USA being Babylon even though it is not nor can be, some are invested in Mecca, some in NYC, some in Jerusalem, all because they refuse to follow ALL THE CLUES. Do not get into a situation where you blindside your own self my friend via a blind-spot.

By the way, if the whole world is Babylon, that makes the USA a huge part of it, as is the whole world in general. The New World is what burns, the old world will not burn, why? Because Jesus will rule from the Old World !! The Plagues that kill and Armageddon wipes out the wicked from the Old World.

I think it is simple to eliminate Iraq, in all of the church history there has not been a great removal of people from one place to Iraq. I think we can also eliminate the Vatican. They might be the puppeteer but certainly there has been no great removal of people to go live in the Vatican. In fact, when I visited Taiwan and Asia that is what struck me, how homogenous the population was. There has not been a great removal of people to go live in Asia. No, during the last two thousand years there has been one great removal of people to go live in the New World. That can refer to both North and South America, but primarily it would refer to the US.

No verse is of its own interpretation. We can take any verse in any prophecy and make some doctrine out of it, the question I have is how does this fit with all the other Bible verses? There is a tremendous amount of prophetic verses indicating that the millennial kingdom is the seventh day, and the first six days are six thousand years. Now there is a lot of debate over when Jesus was crucified on the cross. However, we do know that it is between 30AD and 33AD. In Hosea we are told that the Lord will enliven Israel at the end of the second day from when He left (ascension day, the same year He was crucified) and He will lift them up on the third day. Therefore, I feel the last possible day that is still the 2nd day after He left is the Spring of 2033 (however I feel the evidence is compelling that He was crucified in 32 AD). That is one prophecy that puts a time limit on when the Day of the Lord is, the last seven years described in Revelation prior to the millennial kingdom. Another prophecy is Jesus saying that the Fig tree sprouting is a big sign and that this generation will be no means pass away until all these things take place (the things described in Matt 24, it includes everything up to but not including Armageddon). Psalm 90 says a generation is 70 years, 80 if you are strong (obstinate, rebellious). On Israel's 70th birthday the US moved their embassy to Jerusalem. So I think it is fair to begin the count on May 14, 1948. Moses was counting in decades so technically 70 = 65 --> 74 and 80 = 75 -->84. By the way Jacob was 84 when he married Rachel and Leah. Also, Israel was 75 when Hamas attacked in 2023 so that is a second support for us to count from 1948. The fig tree is first mentioned when Adam and Eve fell, it is associated with the fall of man and it is not the national tree of Israel. So it could also refer to all human government. The UN was formed in 1945 and 75 years later was 2020 when the WHO declared that we had a worldwide Pandemic. The UN will be 84 in 2029 and according to the book of Revelation the UN one world government gets replaced with the Antichrist reign at some point, likely the middle of the seven year period described in Revelation. As a result you can look at this fig tree prophecy and see it referring to both Israel and the UN and in both cases it is pointing to 2032 as the last year of the seven year period described in Revelation.

So then will they rebuild Babylon in this timeframe? Will they rebuild it in perilous times as it seems certain this war with Iran will heat up in the next few days or months and will fulfill the prophecy about God breaking Elam's bow.

When I was a new Christian I heard the doctrine that Israel has to rebuild the temple. I thought that would be the fire alarm, you see them rebuilding the temple you know the day of the Lord is here. But I never saw any verse in the Bible that says they must rebuild the temple or that they would. There are some Greek words that are mistranslated as temple, the word is actually the word for the Holy place which includes the Holy of Holies. Yes, that would be inside the temple if you rebuilt the temple, but it would also be inside the tabernacle if you were to raise the tabernacle again. That is not irrelevant because there is a prophecy that Israel is going to raise the tabernacle of David again. The second reason people use for Israel needing to rebuild the temple is that they have resumed the oblations and sacrifices. I heard an interview with a Rabbi who is considered to be an authoritative voice on this topic in Israel and he said they don't need the temple to resume oblations and sacrifices. All they need is an altar on the temple mount and the way he described it that altar would be a pile of stones that could be built in a single hour given enough strong men to carry up the stones.

Therefore beware of doctrines that give you a false sense of security that until we see this the Lord will not return. The Jews could restart the oblations and sacrifices the same week as the rapture without any prior notice.

Asignificant step was recently taken towards reinstating the Temple service when the nascent Sanhedrin selected Rabbi Baruch Kahane as the next Kohen Gadol (high priest). The selection was made as a precaution for Yom Kippur. If the political conditions should change, allowing the Jews access to the Temple Mount, they will be required by Torah law to bring the sacrifices. Rabbi Kahane is confident that if that should happen, Temple service could begin in less than one week.

The UN and USA have been rebuilding Babylon for over a decade. Think how quickly the Arabs went from tents to great world class cities. Babylon only has to house the Global infrastructure as the Global center.

Zech. 5: 5 - 11 shows that the false religion (woman - wickedness) in the ephod (economic measure) is taken over to the land of Shinar. That is where Babylon is. The A/C sets up His Global Government there.

The USA does not have control of the world the UN (religiously/emotionally) does with its `save the earth` religion. Its moral laws - respect, tolerance, inclusiveness etc is right through every aspect of society. You can be fined or put in jail if you don`t adhere to them.
