  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

All of us who watched the Nightly News in the 80s watch Dan Rather, and he addresses Trump's decision to hire RFK Jr to lead health and how that would be the worst idea ever.

An excerpt:

Let’s take a look at the would-be health czar of a second Trump administration. Kennedy is an unabashed anti-vaccine activist who started a nonprofit to campaign against things like child immunization and water fluoridation. He is a conspiracy theorist who promotes disproven ideas about the effects of pharmaceuticals. His dangerous beliefs include suspicions about inoculation for Covid, flu, chickenpox, mumps, and polio, among others. He is not only against them — he wants vaccines taken off the market so that no one has access to them.

Not only he is anti-Covid, but he's anti-ANY kind of immunizations. He's anti-science altogether.

If this isn't a deal breaker that will way you away from Trump, I don't know what would be.

Vaccines should not be a requirement .... people should not be forced to take them. In the past school systems have required certain vaccines in order to attend school ... yet ... If you don't send your child to school, you could face legal consequences, such as fines, community service, or other orders

so ... in essence mandatory else legal ramifications.

There is nothing wrong with looking into the possible negative effects of vaccines. They should be a choice.

People who don't want vaccines given to their children need to seek alternative education for them because of public school mandates.

CDC provides clinical guidance for vaccine use. Before a vaccine can be approved, it must go through years of testing to show it is safe, effective, and its benefits outweigh the risks. Once it is approved for use, FDA and CDC continue to monitor its safety.

Because of the Covid 19 pandemic this (years of testing) is no longer the case and is concerning.

Smallpox was eradicated as a threat to human life but it took nearly 300 years.

It took a vaccine to eradicate it, to say vaccines shouldn't be required in the school system is a recipe for disaster.

My doctor advised me to get a whooping cough vaccine. A disease eradicated for decades until parental neglect put old and young at risk.
We should not endorse or applaud selfishness when public health is involved.
Or the promotion of lies.

I think that RFK has some good points when it comes to food policies. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that in the USA, people actually consume food with mineral oil in it. And that's harmless compared to many of the cancerous additives, colorings and preservatives, as well as high fructose corn syrup. The list goes on. It remains to be seen of he actually does something to clean things up in this area and not just slash and burn the current food safety structures and not replace them with something better.

But all those tentative positive points are vastly overshadowed by his stance on vaccines and drugs in general, as well as his promotions for pseudoscience cures.
