  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't believe that God is with us all the time

How we are has a lot to do with if and how well we experience being with God. He is with us, but are we with Him??

"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

To me, this means to trust God to change us so we are sharing with Him in His love and our character is submissive so we can flow with Him in His peace >

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)

To me, this means God wants us to always be with Him, in how He rules each of us in His own peace.

"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)

So, God does want us to always be with Him in His rest.

And this comes also with how we become all-loving and generously forgiving; this can have us more with God who is all-loving and generously forgiving.

So, make sure your forgiving is up to date.

I won't go into long detail about why I feel this way, but I have been feeling this way for a long time. I still believe in God of course, but I don't think He's with me all the time like the church loves to preach. If anyone can prove me wrong, I'm open to alternate viewpoints.
The bible doesn't not say that God will be with you according to your feeling that He is.

Use your same belief in God to also believe that He is with you. Build your faith that God is always with you by confessing the verses of scriptures that state that God is with us and will never forsake us.

He is Emanuel > God with us.

John.14:18, 14:16; Psalm.23:4; Deut. 31:6; Hebrws.13:5.

@T.i.m.o.t.h.y. is right you know. He is with us, but He does not always rescue us, or He does not always tell us what to do. And bad things happen to good people. But God is there. Must learn and grow on our own sometimes. But he never leaves us. Go through it with that thought and don’t take your eyes off Him. The circumstances will shake you. With your eyes on Him it’s less lonely.

and talk to him tell him all about it, inform him and He is there.

Our thinking-
God will help us renew our minds. The Holy Soirit guides us to truth (John 16:13). According to Scripture, our part is to take every thought captive -"casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ," (II Cor 10:5).

That means when we have thoughts that are not in line with Scripture, we immediately focus on God and Scripture, the truth, such as
"...I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Heb 13:5)
"The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely and in truth." (Psa 145:19)
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" (I Cor 3:16).

Also, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Rom 12:2)

Encourage you to locate some favorite Scriptures and say them when needed.. Repeat this process as neccessary.

Relevant. There is bits in this about God's silence. I think it will be helpful to you. God does make Himself known to us more some times than others. Nonetheless, God is omnipresent. God is in a place, but the place that God exists is arbitrary because He exists everywhere.

Also, I encourage you to check this out as well if this is causing you to have doubts about your faith.

Logically, you can't explain him away. You may feel that way, but the feeling is not the fact.

The question here is — Are you with him?

Your feelings are not as important to him as what he is making of you. It is hard —inevitably so— but take heart. What God is doing is more than you can ask or think. He is making of you, through all this, something for which you will be more than glad, in the end.

Meanwhile: A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out.

Tell him your heart. Persist. But your life is not about you, but for Christ, and so, for you too.

A Christian who loves Jesus Christ of Nazareth has His Holy Spirit dwelling in them, always. We have the ability to " quench" Him but, that is purely our doing not His. It is His promise to the believer that He will make His Home in us, never abandon us and lead us into all righteousness. If you are " feeling" the loss of His Holy Spirit you are incorrect. This " feeling" only comes to mind when one does not walk with Him daily. Blessings

I don't need details. This is the way most people think. You don't believe God is with you all the time simply because you aren't getting what you want. God never promised His followers a rose garden. All He promised us was persecution but He would be with us through our trials. If you want a closer walk with God, then be prepared to face trials and persecution. It's a package deal.

Ask not what God can do for you. Ask what you can do for God.

The truth is not our feelings. If you are a believer, you have the Holy Spirit. God is so with you, he is inside you! The Holy Spirit does not leave you. He is inside you working in tandem w/ the Father & Son for your ultimate good & God's ultimate glory
