  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello folks. It is gonna be a hot one on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures reaching 95°F in late August in the Wisconsin based city that I reside in. The heat index will be 107°F (42°C).

It’s going to be 111F in the Sonoran desert where my brother lives with 25% humidity. It’s his birthday. Probably all the way through sept- Oct.2 mos of winter then summer. But we are in the 90s here to. Hope you have a/c. Aug used to be a killer when I was out in it. But I’m sorry, I feel for you, it’s not good. Might make you mad. Kidding: put an ice cube in each armpit. That might help. Where a hat and a linen shirt. Drink Gatorade once n a while. What’s the record for the day?

Dang man, that is hot, but happy birthday to your brother. I have A/C, as most Wisconsinites do. It is set to 77-78.8°F (25-26°C) during the day, and 73.4-74.3°F (23-23.5°C) during the night on my smart thermostat, which has an eco/away mode set to 82°F. Luckily, my workplace is cooled, as I work a desk/lab job. In fact, the A/C is so cold there (set to 72°F / 22°C), I wear long sleeves.

Why is my A/C set so warm? Cos I get cold real easily and do not want to wear sweaters in the summer, it is eco-friendly that way with less CO2 emissions, and is cheaper. Best of both worlds.

So, your brother is in Phoenix? That place gets really hot.

Yuma, San Luis. Farther south. We set ours to 78. Best of both worlds. I have the door open now. Below 70 out there. Wearing a robe, but it’s hot. What is your heat index?

Awesome. We are the same when it comes to the temperature settings. The heat index will be 107°F (42°C) tomorrow. :)

Anyways, I have to get some rest, cos it is gonna be a long day tomorrow, just thinking about the heat. Even if I only will be outside for 2 minutes that entire day.
