  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Kamala to fix food prices. Yay!

Amusingly? Ironically? Milk prices have been regulated for a long time.

Good point...though aren't those regulations designed to guarantee a minimum price to dairy farmers?

The ones that are on the various news stations every week. Good enough for me. Especially seeing clips from some of the liberal news.
So as with everything else source verses source.
Do your sources have an explanation for record profits in the food industry?

AFAIK, yes. Because apparently market interventions in that direction are okay.

they were low.
At this point I can only grasp that you want this administration to be responsible for high prices and won’t accept any alternative reasons. Even when facts that say otherwise are presented.

Yea, I heard her gaffe.

Mhmm.

A "dumb as rocks" persson would not be an efffective prosecutor in the court room.

Fair point....some people are smart regarding certain things, others are smart at many things. Do you have any idea what her record was?

I would have preferred that Biden would have sat this one out from the start and give other candidates a chance on a level playing field. - or as level as it gets in our two party system. Given Biden's late decision, though, there was no time to run a primary.

Yeah. Ty for the honesty. Considering all that's coming out about Hunter, I think he felt he had to stay in. I see this as a sort of increasing trend since 2016 of the Democratic Party no longer even giving the voters a choice on a nominee.

Choice of nominee is what got Obama in....when it was supposed to be Hillary's year.

I'd say buying candidates is expensive but honestly, I'm a little surprised how cheap they are. Menendez didn't require 50 million to betray his office....our politicians are cheaply bought. Democratic donors forced Joe out when victory was basically impossible.

Generally speaking...

Covid damaged the economy. It damaged the economy significantly and in multiple ways. Small businesses took the biggest hit. Big business somehow....managed to survive with only a few quarters of negative GDP ....and that's despite supply chain issues, worker issues, and looting/shoplifting issues.

How did big business manage to continue to increase profits despite all these issues?

Well, they imported cheap labor, bought up residential property to rent, and raised prices.

I don't think Harris' idea is the worst....but I'm 100% certain it won't happen. Those same businesses aren't interested in her lowering prices and reducing profits.

Ok....found it. I'm surprised too because every article wants to talk about her political ideological positions. I wanted her conviction rates.

Generally....a prosecutor with a conviction rate of 75-85% is a good prosecutor. They're not so worried about their record they won't try a case that isn't a lock. This means they lose some of the time....but it means that less criminals get away overall.

If a prosecutor has 90%+...they're either crooked or won't touch a case that isn't a near guaranteed conviction.

When it dips below 75%....you're either looking at a very new prosecutor or someone bringing charges when they shouldn't.....or they're just bad.

At 55% Kamala isn't a good prosecutor. She should know how to secure a conviction more than half the time. I'm standing by my previous assessment of her intelligence.

She's not that bright.
