I think the reason he said that was to get more people on board to back Ukraine. Bush said the same about Iraq that the oil there would pay for it. America is not going to get rich with any part of Ukraine. It is better to keep it out of the hands of the enemy though I suspect it is years away from recovery and Putin will be dead by then. The real part of this is if Lindsey is right about Putin's ambitions. Given the coziness to other nations that don't like what the USA stands for we can't trust him. We must deter this ugly coalition. Ukraine is the front lines and the USA and EU need to do more to help themselves. (yes it helps us) Right now Ukraine is doing the heavy lifting.
