As she performed in front of 10,000 people, Megan told the crowd that the U.S. was "about to make history with the first female president—the first Black female president."

On X, formerly Twitter, Lahren posted a clip of the rapper dancing, writing in the caption, "THAT is how Kamala is going to convince Americans she is a serious candidate?"

In another post, the conservative pundit wrote: "Folks, I am not a prude. I'm really not. Policing rap songs really isn't my thing because I listen to rap and hip-hop and don't put much stake into it. HOWEVER. I was a little taken aback at that Megan Thee Stallion performance on stage for Kamala Harris. I mean THAT is how Kamala is going to convince Americans she is a serious candidate?"

Is this really how you show the world you are worthy of the highest office in the country? What happened to dignity, respect, being and adult?

You're right - if she really wanted to convince people who are not already convinced, she should get a washed up professional wrestler to rip his shirt off in front of the crowds and on camera.

I don’t believe there is not a moral equivalence to some calling Hillary “lying Hillary”. And an entertainer being applauded after using the n word, describing female body parts and being vulgar.

How about an entertainer suggesting some sort of violence against the sitting president during a speech at the RNC? (also in 2012)

It doesn't convey seriousness... However I don't think we can pretend that this sort of "dumbing down" of American politics started with Harris either...

A few have already mentioned it, but there were some things involving both Ted Nugent and Kid Rock that would be equivalent to this.

And then there's things like when Lin Manuel Miranda did a "White House poetry slam" session...

The list goes on...

Presidents and candidates trying to lean on pop culture figures to gain favor within certain segments of the voter base has just become "the norm" over the past 20 years.

I personally don't think that "get votes by pretending to like a musician that I know other people like" is necessarily the highest quality approach... But it is what it is at this point...

Way longer than that. A quick search turned up video of musical performers endorsing candidates when the Vietnam War was a hot topic.

Just another example of GOP rhetoric calling out normalcy as if it were something weird, to use a popular word these days.

I don't understand your point for changing "dignity, respect, adult behavior" to "moral equivalence". And we're not talking about "some" who did this particular name calling, wife-insulting and lying (JFK assassination, e.g.).

Donald has been an entertainer for way longer than he's been a politician, but I still don't get your point for saying that the campaigning has become less dignified, respectful, etc.

What's to be seen is how far left the Harris campaign goes with it. Are the going to pull out the stops and go full tilt radical left?
