I didnt watch the debate as it has reached a level of politics that I dont care for, but the newscasters this morning were almost cataclysmic of the shocking feedback they are getting. We can see it in the headlines..

In Reagan's latter years, I knew CIA operatives who said bluntly to those of us in the room that they had completely stopped consulting Reagan on CIA operations. Other agencies likely operated the same way (I couldn't say, never having similarly been behind closed doors with anyone at the FBI or Treasury or Human Resources).

But we've seen already that Lloyd Austin thought it was okay not to let the president know he would be out of touch for several days. What else are the agencies already not telling Biden?

I get it they don't want to confuse him. I really do. But shouldn't the VP have constitutionally replaced him already if he's that confused? In the same way that Bush should have publicly stepped up to replace Reagan. But for whatever reason, the White House didn't take that action.

If Kamala wants her moment of glory she should move now to replace Biden. Call in a neutral doctor from Walter Reed. I actually thought that would have happened a few years ago. I guess it should have.

This reminds me of the old saying, 'the cure is worse than the disease' as that is not the way they will go even if he steps down IMHO..

'Can Biden be removed from the ticket?
It would be difficult. Biden faced minimal opposition in his party’s primaries and has secured 99% of the pledged delegates to the convention. Those delegates will be chosen in large part for their loyalty to the president. Absent extraordinary circumstances — and a backup plan — it’s unlikely they would remove him from the ticket.

Any challenger to Biden would have to announce his or her candidacy before the formal vote, publicly challenging the incumbent in a high-stakes attempted party coup.

How soon must a decision be made?
Soon.

The Democratic National Committee had already planned to move up Biden’s nomination via a phoned-in roll call ahead of the convention to satisfy an Aug. 7 ballot deadline in Ohio. The Republican-led Ohio legislature has extended that deadline, but the Democratic Chairman Jaime Harrison has said the party will go forward with the early roll call anyway, making the convention — which begins August 19 — a mere formality.

What if Biden steps down after the convention?
The decision to replace him would be made by the members of the DNC. But then the party would face another hurdle: Printed ballots with Biden’s name already on them.

Laws vary by state about how a vote for Biden would be counted if he’s no longer the nominee, but his votes would likely go to his replacement when the Electoral College meets.

Who are the possible successors?
Vice President Kamala Harris is the most logical heir apparent, but it wouldn’t be automatic.

Other candidates waiting in the wings — who deferred to Biden and continue to publicly support him — include California Governor Gavin Newsom, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.'...

yep - now even the democrats outside of Biden's inner circle "handlers" and his news media spin doctors - know what has been going on -- and with election day looming large on the horizon they need an actual candidate who can function in office.

Some people think that this was the strategy for having this debate between candidates BEFORE The respective conventions - so that democrats would have the in-your-face blaring news outbursts in June - to give them some motivation for making a change at their convention.

What lies? The news media, and democrats have been lying to us for years. Some acting shocked at Bidens condition is a farce.... They got caught.... all of them.
