Hello brothers and sisters, I've been searching for a forum to discuss some of the lingering questions I have regarding the Bible and how certain things apply in modern times. I originally ended up on r/Christianity (as it was the first to pop up during my search) and I have been utterly disgusted by it. Seemingly half of the people on the board proclaim themselves as Christians while spewing the most vile, blasphemous rhetoric I have ever heard. It seems to me that these people are actually radicalized leftists who actively seek to disrupt and degrade our faith. They pretend to be one of us so they can say "well I'm a Christian and I believe such and such is true" in an attempt to muddy the water and create the illusion of support for things that are inherently wrong. (Abortion being one of the most prevalent topics).

I could go on and on naming specific examples, but I guess I'm just seeking some reassurance that there are true networks of Christians on the internet who operate in good faith. I truly hope to find my people here, and I want to thank you for allowing me to join.

Welcome to CF, BrotherWard! Come on in. The water is comfortable. But just beware-----there are all kinds here, and I'm one of those "other kinds" of Christians.

Much appreciated! And what do you mean by "other kinds"? I don't believe someone's political views disqualify them from believing, I'm more specifically referring to those who are not operating in good faith. I love debating with people, as long as its being conducted in good faith.

I'm the kind who takes a hefty dose of philosophy daily in order to build my faith muscle and have some amount of fellowship with all other Trinitarian Christians, of whatever denomination. ;)

Hello @BrotherWard, WELCOME TO CF  I'm glad that you found us and that you've joined in the discussions with us :)

As far as what @2PhiloVoid just said, I agree, this place is loaded with all kinds of different folks, some Christian, some not, some conservative, some liberal (both religiously and politically). It is also the largest (membership-wise) of all of the Christian forums, thus my description of this place as "loaded with" all different sorts of people.

This is a GREAT place to see where your personal walk is at, as being a Matthew 7:12 Christian around here can be trying at times. It is also a great place to be the very thing that the Lord called us to be as believers, salt and light .. e.g. Matthew 5:13-16, as a loving representative who points others towards the One who is love :amen:

God bless you!!

--David

Matthew 7
12 However you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Welcome!

As others have mentioned you will find all types here. You may find that some are only here to sow dissent or undermine the Christian faith. On the plus side, they are few and it doesn't take long to figure out which ones they are. You can then put them on "ignore" and concentrate on those who have something meaningful to say. I think you will enjoy your time here.

@BrotherWard , and yes, Reddit is a toxic waste dump, I do not have an account there. It is good that we both stay away from Reddit (though, I do browse it for tech and science news).

Welcome to the forum, and as others have said there are all kinds here.

And in my experience, most seem to be acting in good faith. Though as with any internet forum, there's bound to be trolls of some kind.

Hey there brother, I hope you find what you are seeking. We are to stand for truth in truth. But in this we are to try not to be judgemental. Since we all been in one place or another ourselves.
May the Lord our God bless us all in we do through His Way Jesus Christ amen.
