Well, not exactly, Hebrews 12:

5b “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, 6 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
God disciplines us to train us in righteousness. The result is peace. However, not every time something bad happens to us is a result of God's discipline. This life is a testing place for everyone.

Do believers experience God’s wrath?

No. 1 Thessalonians 5:

9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:

9 Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him!

I believe there are forces in nature, built in from creation, that seek to preserve righteousness, reverence for God, and enact justice in creation. I would not use the word karma, but I think this built-in force of nature is recognized by many and given this label. Since the world has fallen in sin, these forces, while still in operation, are sometimes out of wack. I also think when a person, family, community, nation, etc, sins, it is rewarded with some "just recompense of reward." I think we are seeing this in our country (USA). I believe that nature has been wanting to smash down the nation since the late 80s, but God's hand, far from striking us down with judgment, has held back the just punishment that was due. I believe God is lifting His protective hand. We have sinned against God and nature to such an extent that to allow it to continue would result in horror and affliction worse than the judgment. In many ways, this "naturally occurring justice" acts much like a steam release valve. If not for the release... indeed, the whole place would explode.

Some excepts from one of my books:

Nations Defile the Land

The land spews out nations and people:

Levi 18: KJS
24. Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25. And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
26. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit [any] of these abominations; [neither] any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
27. (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which [were] before you, and the land is defiled
28. That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that [were] before you.

Understand this:
When a nation, a city, a region, people, or any group or individual commits abomination, that entity is subject to naturally occurring justice.

...
Justice on the Individuals

We know from our studies that a man's fleshly temporal sin reaps corruption in the temporal flesh:

Galatians 6
7. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh
reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

...

Leviticus 26:43 GNB
43. First, however, the land must be rid of its people, so that it can enjoy its complete rest, and they must pay the full penalty for having rejected my laws and my commands.

Isaiah 5:4 LITV
4 What more could have been done to My vineyard that I have not done in it? Who knows? I waited for it to yield grapes, but it yielded rotten grapes.

Eventually, God will judge:

Isaiah 5:5-6 LITV
5 And now I will make known to you what I will do then to My vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be burned. I will breach its wall, and it will become a trampling ground.
6 And I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor hoed; but briers and thorns shall come up. And I will command the clouds from raining rain on it.

So, does God punish us for our sins?
No. He doesn’t punish us for our sins. He forgave all sin.

The Paraclete does do as you say out of Love. We can give it our best to challenge His wisdom, but, He wins, every time… because He indeed knows best!

Now, sin itself… Carrie’s with it enormous consequences. Sin is the reverse of the Water of Life. While HE quenches thirst, sin leaves us parched, more thirsty and empty on the inside! It steals our joy, darkens our hope and brings sorrow. Sin? It is a consequence of its own making and reward.

Sin? It is a desert mirage of an island of water that draws us further into the desert, parched and in deeper need. It is a cruel task master that leaves stripes on our soul.

Sin? It is a lighthouse cruelly intended to run us aground!

He created all wonderful pleasurable things on this earth out of Love for us. Sin? It takes those things and turns them into hollow promises of fulfillment, that only drain our most meaningful reservoirs of existence.

Brother… without hesitation… I can say that sin is the fire that we are all burned by, desperately believing that the stove might be safe! And then… the fire takes a new form and the lesson begins anew!

I long for the day when the false father has no light of day on this green earth… I long for the day when we can all rejoice together in a world void of lies and injustice. I Long to be absent from the body and present with the Lord!

I long to see the day of Justice, where our Loving Father, however He wills, puts an end to all evil… and we can all fellowship with the True Joy of Children in the very Physical Presence of our One True Father and King!

Our Father Loves us as dearly as His Father Loves Him… and They Love us as Dearly as Their provided Holy Spirit Loves us!

He, because, I hear Oh Israel that our YHWH Who Saves us, is ONE… Loves us with Love that forges existence and sustenance of All that is, ever has been and ever will be.
