It follows that money is not from God - 1 John 2:15-16
That says about love, lust, pride. It's about the intentions of our heart toward these things. Not money and material itself. Anything we pursue for worldly reasons and lustful motives is not from God and is worthless, be it money, food or sex.

But if we receiving anything from the Lord and handling it according to His righteousness and for His kingdom, that's not worthless and we must receive with thanksgiving. Of course, we should not idolise them.

God has His own currency and economy. He makes all things new and holy by washing it for use for His kingdom just as He did with the materials used in the temple in the Old Testament. Some materials even belonged to God and were ordered by Him to be made.

Similar pattern can be seen in The New Temple in Ezekiel 40, and New Heaven and the New Earth, in Revelation 21 and 22. Our body is God's temple and He adorns us as He determines for His Coming and Dwelling in us. Jesus's flesh is not worthless and we are His Body.

We who overcame and crossed our earthly bodies, desires of this world and are dead to flesh, don't need any of this stuff so our faith is not in these things but God may give it for His glory and pleasure. We receive it as our worship and use it for His service.

Yes. :) We preach the living gospel in word and in deed, embodying Jesus before discussing it with others, seeing Christ in them, aiming to connect with them through the fruits of the Holy Spirit. My goal is to transform an individual into a person who reflects the image of God, as Jesus did in Mark 5. I then entrust them to God's care. I don't want to be creating religious fanatics, but childlike individuals who worship in truth and spirit.

In the story of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15, it can seem like Jesus might have been unkind or dismissive in how He responded to her, which can be hard to understand. We may also encounter similar situations in the world, and I'm trying to be sensitive to my faith and calling. I want to make sure that God's love and truth are not misused or compromised.

I used to engage with elders and unbelievers, but I realized that I wasn't focusing on loving them. I lacked ability to understand, receive and appreciate when others shared something. I didn't pray or assess whether or not God really wants me to engage with someone. I also come to understand that they that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I see their human condition just as Jesus forgave those who persecuted him and asked that we love our enemies.

I try to spend quality time with people. Men and women can have different roles and preaching styles in communicating the message of God and how they love. And each person has their gifts according to the Holy Spirit, and sharing the gospel with children requires a unique approach.

I prefer having conversations to flow naturally allowing God to work and respecting the free will given by God to people. I speak directly, but I also subtly express the gospel in my lifestyle and hope that God can preach through that as it fits His kingdom. Gospel means Jesus, and Jesus means Love, and God is Love.

More than a Christian, I'm Christlike. He referred to Himself as The Son of Man, as the Son of God, and as the Word made flesh. Not as a follower of a particular Judaism or by other man-made labels. I want to be identified as a Daughter of Woman, Daughter of God made in the image of God and see others the same.

I don't believe in categorizing people or God's truth based on any religious affiliations or labels created by society, but rather on the values and principles they uphold. I aim to discern motives behind a person and condition of their heart. While I may need to rebuke at times, I am also learning to share the message of the gospel in a way that is respectful.

Sometimes we need to rebuke, but as a young woman, I'm also learning how to share the gospel without causing offense or obstructing God's work. Moses strikes the mountain when he was only needed to talk to the mountain. I don't want to do something like that. In 2 Corinthians 7, Paul experiences similar feelings of regret but then doesn't regret as it leads to godly sorrow and repentance.

I can come across as intimidating, religious, and harsh to some. But I aim to be humble, approachable, and pure. I want to communicate better. I want to ensure that I allow God to work through my hands and my feet. I want to share the direct message from God and the complete truth. I need His strength. Please pray for me regarding these requests. Thank you.

I especially like Jesus instructions, which is what I follow, and try to immitate.
Matthew 10:7-13
  1. As you go, proclaim, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Go. Preach the message of the gospel.
  2. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you received, freely give. Do kind deeds to everyone in need. Do so freely.
  3. Don’t acquire gold, silver, or copper for your money-belts. Don’t take a traveling bag for the road, or an extra shirt, sandals, or a staff, for the worker is worthy of his food. Don't look for payment. That will be provided.
  4. Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. Search out those who are worthy. Search for sheep.
  5. Greet a household when you enter it, and if the household is worthy, let your peace be on it; but if it is unworthy, let your peace return to you. At every house you encounter someone, greet the household. Be polite and mannerly. Show that you are interested in them.
  6. If anyone does not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that house or town. Don't allow negative responses or opposition to affect you. Continue on.

@timewerx How do you show your faithfulness to the Lord?

My faith is in the Lord. But for Christians to simply tell me to pray or put my faith on the Lord and no readiness to provide for or no real care and comfort to help me out when I'm in need, I would say is a shame on them, shame on their culture, irresponsible, hideous robbery, shocking, treachery, inhuman, not Christ like, foolish deception, evil, and utter failure.

They have no right to take the name of the Lord as that would be a disgrace and abomination. They are not being responsible citizens of His kingdom and are unworthy of Him. According to the Parable of the Barren Fig Tree, it is better for such trees to be cut down and thrown into eternal fire.

Mark 11. Jesus approached a fig tree to eat from it. Finding nothing but leaves, “for it was not the season for figs,” he cursed it with barrenness saying, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.”

Would you say Jesus didn't have faith when He saw the tree to eat from it? Was He putting faith in the tree rather than God thus following a prosperity gospel?

This is devil game to keep people under bondage, oppression, create division and then accuse God and His people. I'm not surprised you are recommending this. Unbelievers are better than that.

I think you are doing well in your efforts to "share the gospel without causing offense".
I picked up on that effort, in your careful responses.
They reminded me of the response of Gideon, and the lesson we can learn from it.

I'm only reading this today. Thanks for sharing the scripture from Judges 8. That has blessed me as I meditated on it. Christ is The Center. He is our balance. He is our perfection. He finds perfection in imperfection.

Iron sharpens Iron. And it is good to sharpen our swords. There is safety in that. We are solider's in a much greater fight in the heavenly realms. When my motive is love and righteous, then I have not offended anyone.

But I will still be careful when dealing with the children as we should be. Their hearts can be delicate, straining the relationships forever. However, I know they will understand when they grow up. And all things will work together for good in the end.

If it was my own weakness that is causing offence to others or feeling offended by others, then I work on myself. If there was a misunderstanding that caused the offence, then shall I seek forgiveness out of respect and love for God and my neighbour. Matthew 5:23.

If I must snatch someone from fire, I will do it. Jude 1:23. There can also be situations where I have no choice but to hand the person over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the Day of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 5:5.

In the end, I make sure I find my center and balance in Christ and move forward. Sometimes it is just the cunning devil making people think they are offended when there is nothing to be offended about. Then I rightly did so offend by The Holy Spirit.

The harvesters are angels. There is a time for everything. We may need to let the weeds grow for a bit before offending them. Matthew 13:29. Jesus Is On The Threshing Floor. His winnowing fork is in His hand. So will it be at the end of the age.

I'd love to know if there is one verse in the New Testament telling we should receive money with thanksgiving.

I don't remember a verse Jesus receiving money with thanksgiving nor telling His disciples to do so.

Prosperity preachers sometimes quote 1 Timothy 4:4 and interprets it out of context saying it also includes money but reading the previous three verses reveal Paul is only talking about food and it does not include money. Jesus the disciples also received food with thanksgiving but I don't recall they ever received money with thanksgiving.

We need to pay attention to these small details. Money is extremely deceitful according to the teachings of Jesus. I don't think it's right to ever preach money in a positive light. Jesus never did. I only earn money to get by in this corrupt world. I would help the poor if I had any extra but I really don't. I'm poor myself and may lose our house at some point when the little money remaining in the bank has ran out. The money I make is not enough to pay the bills.

I will not ever subscribe to the false prosperity gospel so the devil will bless me with more money. Yes, the devil can bless with great wealth, he told about it when he tried to tempt Jesus.

I never asked for money. I may have in the past, can't remember. But I definitely don't believe it's right to ask Christians for money even if Christians are accountable for helping the poor. I know this may sound like I'm asking for money sharing my situation so if anyone here tries to help me out, I'm going to refuse any help. I'll trust on the Lord instead.

You only read the letter of the scripture, not the spirit of it for you are blind to it. 2 Corinthians 3:6. You read scripture from your own earthly perspective when Jesus revealed from The Heaven's perspective.

Why do you think God accepts tithe or other offerings? He is the same reason God living in us doing what He does. We are not receiving money. God in me, The Christ in me is receiving it, because it belongs to Him.

Jesus came with a purpose. He is completely equipped in Himself for what He needs for His purpose. Everyone has a different purpose why they are born and accordingly they will receive.

You need to stop mixing "prosperity" with the faith. I'm telling you a story of faith, but your eyes are seeing prosperity gospel. Your intention is the problem because you are still in flesh of this world. I'm not in the flesh of this world. I'm Jesus's body.

Prosperity gospel is trust in the things. If someone receives, pursues or keeps anything, for you, it automatically means their trust is in it. You are projecting yourself onto others. You are not taking into account the motives which is what Jesus said about.

Your motive comes from fear because you are not immune to it's spell. You are alive to the flesh of this world. It can rule over you with fear and deception. While our motive comes from faith because we are dead to the flesh of this world. We rule over it.

Devil can deceive you thinking that it has money and riches. It has nothing. Not a single penny. God allows the devil to think it has anything for a time. It told Eve you will be like God, while Eve was already made in the image of God.

How can devil give anything while devil itself has nothing. It's only a game. It's time is up. We are richer than devil if it has anything at all. Jesus lives in us. We know God is the Creator of Heaven and Earth and all things are already given to us before the creation.

For those who were deceived to believe that devil has anything, it does has a lot of unrighteous wealth and will pretend to give from it. But it actually gives nothing in reality. It cannot. But God gives from his righteous wealth. That brings true blessings.

Who said it's right to ask Christians for money. We come with our prayer requests and put our faith in the Lord. The Holy Spirit moves the believers to support the needy in that whatever way God has prepared them. Just as God prepared Joseph in the time of famine.

It is a story of faith. No, it doesn't sound like you are asking for money. You should not have it more than you need at this time until you learn to overcome sin and mature in faith.

I'm not saying that you become rich. I'm asking that you stop being jealous of your neighbour who is prosperous and intending evil towards him. Set your motives right before the Lord and be healed. Your faith is in your own faith, not on God.

These are some good points you made.
I am reminded of the parable of the wise steward. Luke 16:1-13
Verse 9 reads...
And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.

We really need to be careful about not taking 1 Timothy 6:10 out of context, or even misquoting it.
I remember hearing persons repeat the statement "money is the root of all evil". I did not come to know it was not true, until I read the verse in the Bible for myself.

Some people have taken it to an extreme.
I remember someone telling me that you should not have material possessions, because Jesus said 'sell all your belongings - including your house'.
I guess these persons only read one part of the Bible, and forget that the Bible is a complete book of 66 little books.

1 Timothy 5:8 says...
If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Also 2 Thessalonians 3:10 says...
For even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “If anyone is unwilling to work, he shall not eat.”

Then we have Solomon's words, which supports these scriptures.
Ecclesiastes 7:12
For wisdom is protection just as money is protection, But the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom keeps its possessors alive.

Money does serve its purpose in this world we live in.
It's not everything, but it certainly is something.

I'm only reading this today. Thanks for sharing the scripture from Judges 8. That has blessed me as I meditated on it. Christ is The Center. He is our balance. He is our perfection. He finds perfection in imperfection.

Iron sharpens Iron. And it is good to sharpen our swords. There is safety in that. We are solider's in a much greater fight in the heavenly realms. When my motive is love and righteous, then I have not offended anyone.

But I will still be careful when dealing with the children as we should be. Their hearts can be delicate, straining the relationships forever. However, I know they will understand when they grow up. And all things will work together for good in the end.

If it was my own weakness that is causing offence to others or feeling offended by others, then I work on myself. If there was a misunderstanding that caused the offence, then shall I seek forgiveness out of respect and love for God and my neighbour. Matthew 5:23.

If I must snatch someone from fire, I will do it. Jude 1:23. There can also be situations where I have no choice but to hand the person over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the Day of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 5:5.

In the end, I make sure I find my center and balance in Christ and move forward. Sometimes it is just the cunning devil making people think they are offended when there is nothing to be offended about. Then I rightly did so offend by The Holy Spirit.

The harvesters are angels. There is a time for everything. We may need to let the weeds grow for a bit before offending them. Matthew 13:29. Jesus Is On The Threshing Floor. His winnowing fork is in His hand. So will it be at the end of the age.
Yes, in the end, the angels harvest, but right now, who are the harvesters? Matthew 9:37; 1 Corinthians 3:9
