Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Spurlock has passed away from cancer at the relatively young age of 53:

If you are of a certain generation, this guy was iconic. Even greater than Michael Moore, IMO, in terms of producing this type of investigative journalism mixed with empathy, humor, and entertainment.

I remember watching that documentary. It certain was informative about how bad fast food is.
From what I've seen it was sort of debunked as a lot of his symptoms he experienced while filming that might have been due to his alcoholism.

Curious if he was just an alcoholic that month he ate nothing but McDonald supersize meals or was before and after.

I would thing the symptoms he had that month would have been there before and after if it was due to alcoholism.

He claimed that he has "not been sober for more than a week in 30 years" and that he has been "consistently drinking since he was 13" so it seems like it was before. There can be little doubt that the fast food contributed to the health issues, but they were likely not the underlying cause as was the documentaries assertions.

While alcoholism did him no favors, eating fast food every day definitely does nothing good for your health.

I was unaware he was an alcoholic. Apparently it's something he didn't disclose until he got caught up in #MeToo (and I had stopped paying alot of attention to news around that time period). It very likely contributed to his premature death, as some of the metabolites of alcohol are known carcinogens.
