Hi there,
I have been meaning to ( legally) burn DVDs of a testimony of a pastor and distribute these DVDs in my neighbourhood.
My question is - do people even use DVD players anymore?
If they don't I might need to find a way to print a QR code on the back of a tract which leads them to his website but will be needing some help doing this.

Looking forward to your thoughts.

Sure they do but I'd say not by the numbers that would make it worth while to do your project. You're better off with a download way of doing it.

Sure I do!

... and a large tv ministry that I support regularly mails out DVD teachings to its supporters.
I see other tv ministries, too, that offer DVDs of their programs.

Having said that, I'm a senior citizen.
So I would say, 'yes', we senior citizens do still use our DVD players!

As for younger persons, I really do not know?

What would be the reason to give a testimony of a pastor to people. Testimonies are a dime a dozen and very rarely do they give, the clear and simple message of how to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life (salvation)

If you are going to do something in your neighborhood. Why not record someone telling how to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life, by belief.faith in Jesus. Which is believing Jesus is the resurrection and the life, the promised Messiah So of God and let God do the rest.

You could include many of the verses from The Gospel of John stating this truth.

John 3:14,15 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is
condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God.

John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

John 6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believe in Me has everlasting life.

John 11:25,26,27
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

John 20:31
but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Thank you for the answers so far!
It's great to know that people still use DVD players as this project has been on the back burner for some time and it's something I would like to tackle in this new year.

... btw, they offer a bunch of DVD players for sale on Amazon, so obviously people are still buying them!

Likely an age issue. My guess is younger folks tend more toward streaming. If, however, you rely on streaming, is your target audience going to be able to stream it? Age is a factor (I'm in my sixties and can get away with saying that), and streaming may be as difficult to some as setting the time on a VCR was to preceding generations. You also have to have reliable internet service to stream, whether that's over a landline or a cell service.

Now, I do own a DVD player. That said, I seldom watch DVDs for the same reason I seldom watch TV: it's hard to find anything worth watching. That's also why I haven't bothered with streaming.

Im 37 I haven’t used a dvd player in awhile, I don’t even use cable anymore. I mostly stream, I think that YouTube may be a good option if you’re not selling the dvds for a profit.

Definitely use both. Many people are leery of putting anything into their computer or phone. A DVD can't exactly give your computer a virus if it's played on a stand alone DVD player. Lots of older people, say over 70, really aren't very comfortable with computers even though they may have one. But for most, the QR code is the answer. And much cheaper to produce.

Technically I still have a BluRay and DVD player. That said, we moved four years ago and never hooked up the DVD player to our television! We stream everything.

I use my DVD player all the time. Live next to a library, and can rent DVDs from there for free. :) No need for Netflix anymore.

Edit: HBO Max and Prime are the only streaming services I need. For new movies and shows, DVDs are released 90-180 days after the last episode or movie is aired, sometimes over a year for Disney+ content. DVDs are perfect for anime also, such as Cowboy Bebop and One Piece. Just make sure the anime DVDs have the choice between English dubs and subtitles.
