Has your personal theology been influenced by translation or by transliteration? Has transliteration allowed the religion to go in a different direction than as intended? As an example, we have many words created including Jesus, Christ or even Jesus Christ as if it were a surname, along with words we take for granted like baptism, apostle, or even passover that allow us to give meaning differing from the original intention.

Do you mean: Has my theology been influenced by the fact that I think in English, instead of Greek or Latin or German or some other language?

Sure. One's native language helps provide the categories that one uses to think about the world. I try to educate myself about what these technical theological and philosophical terms meant in the minds of the Greek speakers, Latin speakers, etc., who coined the terms, but I will always do theology with an American-English accent, so to speak.
