I seldom have anything in common with Bill Maher, he is after all an ideologue. However looks like he is not far gone enough that him and I cannot have common grounds. So much of what his stance is very inline with my own such as stop looking at race to determine if it is good works or charity, stop politicizing something and making it into an identity & playing the victimhood Olympics. Bravo the "Liberal" west might actually have hope to live up to its meaning.

Arent we all? Once I left the tribe I found Bill and Jon had some good concerns. I don't agree with all their views but there are some things in common.

I used to listen to his show but his recently dive into the deep end of right wing ignorance has been a real turn off.

I agree with his views on religion but not much else.

I don't agree with his religious views. There's a lack a respect for the complexity of the topic. His derision for certain social or political trends seems in line with that.

Most rational people understand we might disagree with others occasionally without being enemies. The unhinged tribalism has been counterproductive for America and citizens. After all, is one's spouse "human scum" or an "enemy of the people" simply for holding different views?

I find it particularly interesting how right wing media has been cherry picking from Maher's comments for over a year now. All that's required is for one to say something popular with political zealots and voila! Instant credibility. Rarely do right wing media actually publish other relevant segments of Bill's commentary though. Their "Readers" wouldn't listen to Maher if their suppliers of preferred narratives published his entire narrative. Poor investigators also tailor their evidence to support their hypotheses, rather than forming their theories that are supported by the evidence.
