  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Israel)

Psalm 122:6

Normally a prayer for the eternal salvation of the Jewish people. But also for their need and safety in life
especially in days like these.

Few can imagine the horror they are going through now...
or the threat of this horror they live with day by day.

Sha'alu shalom Yeushalayim, Abba. Hosha nah!

In reply to your post, I will include this message, which I just left on the PRAYER wall.

The Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Israel. So I do include that prayer along with my other daily prayers.

But what else does the Bible say? It says that if the Lord does not guard the city, the watchmen watch in vain. What causes the Lord to guard the city? Obedience to him.

I am sorry, but the truth is that Israel, like the United States, and so many nations around the world, does not live in the state of obedience.

Israel has become increasingly secular, even pagan in many ways, in its practices and beliefs.

I think the biggest prayer we can pray for Israel is for repentance.

2 Chronicles 7:14, “…if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

In the meantime, I’ve been praying for innocent people, for holy angels, to help them in every way.

I am not sure what point you were trying to make. Possibly you were saying that one way or another we should be concerned about the Israelis and try to help them. I agree with that.

But that doesn’t change my call for prayers for repentance as repentance is what will help them the most, if they truly repent.

The history of Israel Has been over and over that they would follow the Lord, then turn to apostasy and pagan ways, and that he, yes, he, would send pagan nations and things like famine and other disasters against them.

When they would then repent, which was always for a limited time only before they reverted back, then he would show mercy to them. That doesn’t mean we can’t show mercy one way or another. But one way to show mercy is to get to the root of the problem, and pray for repentance.

I agree that Israel belongs to the Jews, as shown in the Bible. But once again, it’s not that simple. The Lord himself sent violent, invading pagan armies to yank his people out of Israel as in the Babylonian captivity. Why? Because the Israelites had turned away from him to pagan ways.

Yes, we all want the Almighty to protect Israel. But his protection comes with conditions.

Sometimes people inside and outside of Israel seem to think that all they have to do is say they are Jews and that means they are automatically under his wings. But history certainly has shown us otherwise.

Several times in the Bible prophets told the Israel populace what was coming if they didn’t obey. And they were always ignored, even ridiculed.

There will be no peace without repentance.

I see so many comments and videos about the recent Hamas attack. Not once have I seen anybody anywhere calling the nation to repentance. And that is clearly what the Bible says is needed for a nation to be healed.

But you can pray for repentance, and so will I.

I believe that God gave this land to the Jewish people for his purpose. This is a democratic, capitalist, productive country. People identify with it for its cultural offerings. It maintains the city of David, a city sacred to 3 religions.

Actually it's only ultra orthodox like the two ultra-orthodox members of the Knesset that don't like Christians ... Israel: Bill Introduced to Outlaw Evangelization in the Country Israel: Bill Introduced to Outlaw Evangelization in the Country ... Bebe voted this down as he is NOT anti-Christians.

Bebe and other Israeli's have long said that they welcome Christians visiting Israel and their support of Israel's right as a Nation to their homeland as ordained by GOD.

Everyone in the world needs to repent. That doesn't mean we won't face tragedies and horror. This isn't heaven. There will be no evil in heaven and no perfect peace here. If we want to pray for repentance, we must pray for the world. But God shows mercy to those of us who don't deserve mercy. His plans can't be thwarted. And at times we don't understand His plans. Job wasn't the most wicked person, but he certainly suffered.

BTW, my husband, children and I have been recipients of kindnesses by many Jews. I don't know any where we now live.

And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness."

This life is the most hell a believer in Jesus Christ will ever know.
At the same time...
This life is the most heaven an unbeliever in Jesus Christ will ever know.
