Yeah, how dare he support such un-American ideas as exchanging labor for money or allowing private ownership and investment in the means of production. I can see why the GOP would be very very upset at that.
Labor? Hahaha!
Exactly what "labor" did Hunter do for $250,000 from China?

Probably cause is needed for a criminal charge. It is not needed in order to do an inquiry or begin a congressional investigation.
Here's the video of the first day of the hearing. You both could watch it and be informed for yourself.
Yeah but I said they had probable cause

There were two payments to Hunter from BHR Partners, one for $10,000 and one for $250,000.
Hunter borrowed $260,000 using his 10% investment in BHR Partners.

EXCLUSIVE: The $250,000 wire Hunter Biden received from his Chinese business partners was labeled as a "personal investment," despite his legal team claiming the funds were part of a loan and previously saying he never "received any return on his investment," Fox News Digital has learned.

Nice cover story.

Are you really objecting to people getting paid to work or as a return on their investments. I get it, there are some economic systems which also reject that, but they're typically not really popular with the GOP.

I'm still waiting for someone, anyone, to explain what work he did for China.

What they said was the Republicans don’t have that evidence yet. That’s why you have an inquiry.
Typically hearings are held when there's evidence of wrongdoing, not when everyone interviewed seems to be saying that Biden didn't do anything wrong.
What else should we hold hearings about where all the evidence points against there being a reason for a hearing?

Why would anyone feel the need, given the lack of evidence of any sort of wrongdoing?
He has already shown that he's willing to do questionable things. Yes, illegal things too. Crack hasn't been legalized yet, and gun control laws that his father is so proud of still are enforceable.

There were plenty of reasons for a hearing given.

Unless it’s being alleged that the “work” was “illegal” (in some way), it’s none of our business.
Innit?

It can certainly be investigated to find out what it was in the meantime. That's how to get the answers.

Yes, investigate away, this is “normal” (if law enforcement agencies are doing the “investigations”; if it’s House Committees (or subcommittees), then that’s not in their purview).

20 phone calls over approximately 10 years? 2 calls a year?
Just how many of these hundred thousand dollar influential meetings does Hunter do in a year? A guy with no real skills and experience. Gee I wonder if I could get some.

Look we all know he is peddling influence. And because Biden is involved in these. At least 20 of them, it's pretty clear what's going on.

How many other ones occured that we don't know about? How many has happened?

If the DOJ had done their job the committee wouldn’t have to
