  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Shipping migrants to these Blue State 'sanctuary city' blowhards was the best thing that ever happened. ‘No, see, we meant YOU guys down south were supposed to shut up and enjoy the vibrant diversity of unlimited migration...’," journalist John Hayward mocked.
They really nailed the all too common hypocrisy of the left.

Obviously the best place for asylum seekers should go in the U.S. is a town or city where they have relatives or good friends who are established and can help them.

NY has many immigrants from all over the world, many Asians and Africans as well. They settle there because they have family and friends to help them get settled or wait for asylum. Immigrants want to work and pay their own way, but they need help to get started.

Governor Abbott is in hot water with the federal government for the razor- bounded barriers he put in the Rio Grande, along with his command to National Guard troops stationed there to take immigrant river crossers and throw them back in the river, even children! He is being sued because he does not have jurisdiction over the water or boundaries. He is also in hot water with the Mexican government because commerce can no longer operate on the river.

Apparently Abbott's actions are in reaction to news that ICE is now able to catch 70% of those entering illegally and immediately deport them. The numbers are going down, and so Abbott has to keep this as a hot issue so he has made the razor-booby-trapped Rio Grande into a place where immigrants are sliced, diced, or thrown back in the water by the National Guard.

Immoral and disgusting. Who would try to slice and dice a child and drown them if they failed?

We have a president who has violated his oath of office and not just allowed, but encouraged an invasion. So too those cities offering sanctuary and the people who support Joe and sanctuary polices hold some responsibility. We don't know how many hundreds of thousands of women and children have been sex trafficked as a result of the hard left policies. The Biden regime has lost complete track of 85,000 children. Fentanyl flowing into the U.S., encouraged by administration polices, kills 80,000 of our young people each year. The cartels, fueled by the money made by human trafficking, are now well entrenched in our country. Chinese military and criminals and terrorists and mentally unstable people released by numerous countries have come over our border. We owe it those sex trafficked to try and save them, and many of the survivors will need mental treatment for life. We owe those who have and will become victims of the foreign criminals and terrorists. And unless Americans wake up and change these policies every city will soon be like San Francisco.

NYC policy is to prioritize immigrant criminals. If immigrants are working or starting businesses they are not targeted.
Trafficking rescue groups have pointed out the true picture of victims. Sounds of Freedom tells a true story without indicating the vast majority of victims are teenage runaways, many of them thrown out of the house by conservative Christian parents for being LGBTQ.
Most traffickers in Central and South America are Americans.
While Sounds of Freedom was wrenching, it played into the fantasy scenario of foreign "invaders" coming in with kidnapped 8 year olds.
The best way we can reduce trafficking is by being loving parents to the children we have. Teen years can be tough but while we need to have rules, we should never disown a child entirely sending them into the hands of predators.
