Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency Friday over the ongoing flood of migrants into the Big Apple — warning that they’re pushing the city’s shelter population to an all-time high and will cost taxpayers $1 billion for housing and social services.

“This is unsustainable,” Adams said.

“New York City is doing all we can but we are reaching the outer limit of our ability to help.”

But in a live speech and a Q&A session with reporters at City Hall, Adams continued putting the blame on everyone but himself and Gotham’s well-deserved reputation as a generous “sanctuary city” for illegal immigrants.

That is $1 Billion dollars of which .01% will trickle down to the migrants. For $1 Billion dollars, you could buy a few mid size towns, lock stock and barrel.
I watch all the Billions and Trillions of dollars tossed around and I don't see any of it. Have you seen any of the $31 Trillion of the Nat'l Debt in your neighborhood?
We have a trickle down economy. Some percent of a percent of the government spending trickles down to the rest of us. Must be "administrative costs" that eats the rest of the $$, yo ho ho.

Yeah....of course.

Nobody can plan their welfare and social services around an unending number of new poor and uneducated that show up thousands at a time.

It's just common sense.

He's correct that they will cost an excessive amount...and it's ironic to think of how this compares to the cost of the wall and other related security measures.

In time, those things would have paid for themselves.

When he cares about the outrageous crime rate in NYC that is already a state of emergency for New Yorkers, then he will be more credible on this issue.

Major crimes in New York City have skyrocketed 37% so far this year — driven by grand larcenies, auto thefts, burglaries and robberies, according to NYPD data.

Most of it is payola. We have government projects here where three people are doing the work and a dozen hard hats are standing around watching them.

The people have to quit falling for these politicians and elect someone who has a proven record of being tough on crime.
Are you saying it should be a crime for people to be homeless? In a lot of places, it is a crime.

Or Christians need to step up and help these people.
