  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Bible is the woman. She foretold the coming of Our Lord.
The Crown is the phophet (Word)
The Sun is the Beginning (Alpha)
The Moon Is the the End (Omega)

Zechariah
Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live forever?
But did not my Words and my Decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, overtake your ancestors?

Welcome. The Christian view is quite different. Blessings

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.

  • A woman: The church is the woman.
  • Clothed with the sun: or with righteousness. Jesus Christ is the Light, she is clothed in light; by extension, clothed in righteousness, by Him.
  • With the moon under her feet: just showcasing her power over the world.
  • A crown of twelve stars: represents the twelve tribes of Israel.

What is the meaning of church?
How did the church gave birth?

The church preaches the message which Christ gave. Those who hear, if God wills, will be led to repentance, unto baptism, unto receiving the Holy Spirit.

The church is the Bride of Christ. Christ uses the church, a woman, to bring more children into the world. A church is a congregation or a family. The church is submissive to Christ as wives are submissive to husbands. The church teaches and nourishes church members, just as mother will teach their young children and nourish and serve them.

Actually, the woman is Israel (Genesis 37:9-10).
The man child is Jesus.
And the first reference to this Revelation 12 chapter is found in Genesis 3:15.
How can the church or Israel gave birth to a male child & becomes the bride of this child?

Woman is Israel and dragon is son of perdition, satan, revelation chapter 12. The flood is lies and deception from satan as antichrist near future. Ephesians chapter 6, the majority don't have gospel armory on. Thier biblically illiterate. Knowing of God's word is key past antichrist. When antichrist arrives 6th trump. Nothing but lies will come from his mouth. Because some people are too lazy to study the bible or thier involved in denominations that teach tradition of men and false doctrine. Thier biblically illiterate. Ephesians chapter 6 is the answer. This isn't time to play church.

The woman in Revelation has been seen by Catholic commentators as sometimes the Church and at other times Mary, the Mother of God.

When Mary appeared at Fatima in 1917 the sun was well and truly involved.

In line with the Davidic tradition of the "Queen Mother" sitting at the right hand side of her son the king (starting with Solomon and Bathsheba), Mary sits at the right hand side of Christ in heaven. That's one of the arguments for her Assumption so that she could take her rightful place with Christ.

Mary is the also the New Eve, the woman foretold in Genesis 3:15 "I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring (Christ); he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”

As Christ said to His Mother (John 2:1-5) "O woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you”.

She in turn points us to Christ.

Unfortunately Protestants underestimate her importance. Catholic exorcists often call upon Mary during their ministries and with great effect. The devil or Dragon is afraid of her, hence the reference to a war between them.

As far as I'm concerned she is the Woman in Revelation.

One misdiagnosis by doctors and a couple of Catholic priests who should have known better doesn't negate the very real exorcisms carried out by Catholic priests.

Ten times out of ten the priest will ask for psychiatric evaluation first.

Even in the unfortunate Anneliese Michel case she had been receiving psychiatric care for several years to no avail before she and her family approached the Catholic Church. She also seemed to be displaying symptoms of demonic possession.

Anneliese told me—and Frau Hein confirmed this—that she was unable to enter the shrine. She approached it with the greatest hesitation, then said that the soil burned like fire and she simply could not stand it. She then walked around the shrine in a wide arc and tried to approach it from the back. She looked at the people who were kneeling in the area surrounding the little garden, and it seemed to her that while praying they were gnashing their teeth. She got as far as the edge of the little garden, then she had to turn back. Coming from the front again, she had to avert her glance from the picture of Christ [in the chapel of the house]. She made it several times to the garden, but could not get past it. She also noted that she could no longer look at medals or pictures of saints; they sparkled so immensely that she could not stand it.[14]

— Father Ernst Alt
Given symptoms like that, and with psychiatric care not going anywhere, what would you think?

The woman in Revelation 12 is Israel.

Genesis 37:9–10 (KJV)
9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.
10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

And of course Joseph was the 12th star.

Revelation 12 (KJV)
1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Genesis 3:15 (KJV)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Interesting to note, "the woman" who rides the beast (Revelation 17) in contrast to "the woman" who bore the Christ child (Revelation 12) hearkening back to the juxtaposition / contrast between the two seeds (Genesis 3:15). No doubt Eve thought she would be "the woman" spoken of and that her two sons Cain and Abel were the yin and the yang / thesis antithesis. But they both came from this woman...

Genesis 3:15 (KJV)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Matthew 9:15
Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.

If Israel is the woman in revelation 12.
Then who is the guest in Matthew 9:15?

Of the Man - Child whom is born to the Woman,

the woman, is described as also having \ more seeds - plural seed / more children - = the remnant of her seed.

I believe the woman would be Israel who is symbolically identified as a woman ...... Rev 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

2Jn 1:1 unto the elect WOMAN and her children
2Jn 1:5 Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem - is the mother of us all.

why would the Catholic Mary be wearing a crown of 12 stars

Old Testament

Isa 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband
Isa 54:6 For the LORD hath CALLED THE AS A WOMAN
Mic 4:6 In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble HER - I will gather her that is driven out,
Mic 4:7 And I will make HER that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation:
Mic 4:8 the daughter of Zion, - - the daughter of Jerusalem.
Mic 4:9 for pangs have taken thee as a WOMAN in travail.
Mic 4:10 Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a WOMAN in travail:

it's just what I believe but I do understand how some would believe the woman to be the Gentile Church of Jesus. One thing though, is that the all of these passages are referring to Jews / Israel.

The Scriptures do identify the gentile church as the wife / bride, but these passages are specifically however, are expressed to the nation of Israel specifically identifying Israel as a " woman " and not much else is written in scripture referring to the gentile bride as a " woman " outside of identifying the gentile church as a wife / bride.

which would also be a woman symbolicaly -

and the bride would be spiritual seed of the woman, Israel. I do recall that the harlot of Babylon was a mother of daughters / harlots
and in -- --
Gal 4:26 - - - But Jerusalem - is the mother of us all.

I am just thinking about what the Bible says.

The Old Testament (the woman) gave birth to Our Lord Jesus (bridegroom).

The New Testament (bride) is Our Lord's Wisdom given to us, to defeat death our enemy.

All those people who is chosen by Our Lord will follow him & will be his bride.

The dragon is hiding death from us by deceiving us.
Everything we do in this world is meaningless because of death.

We need to prepare ourselves, for death is approaching & the way of Our Lord Jesus is the only way to defeat death.

The Babylonian will never agree. The light of a lamp will never shine in them again. The voice of Bridegroom and Bride will never be heard in them again. Their merchants were their world’s important people. By their magic spell all the nations were led astray.
