So there are a great number of verses in the bible (Isaiah 41:10, Deuteronomy 31:6, Jeremiah 29:11, etc) that talk about GODs love for us, and that he is fighting for us and that we aught not be be discouraged as he fights for us and goes before us keeping us safe from harm etc
However if our LORD fights so hard for us and will keep us from harm, how come most of the apostles are believed to have been executed for their preaching the Gospel?
Notice who the Bible says is "the god of this world"
2 Cor 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case
the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they will not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Who has the world been given over to - according to Luke 4
Luke 4: 5 And he (Satan/the Devil) led Him up and showed Him
all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.6 And the devil said to Him,
“I will give You all this domain and its glory,
for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I want. 7 Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours.” 8 Jesus replied to him, “It is written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’”
Where is Satan's domain according to Job 1

From roaming about on the earth and walking around on it.” 8 The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job?
Christians are at war with the devil according to Eph 6
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For
we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual
hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Who is "the ruler of this world" according to Christ in John 14?
John 14:30 I will not speak much more with you, for
the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in
regard to Me,
So then the World whose god is the devil - also wages war against the followers of Christ.
John 15:18 “If
the world hates you, you know that
it has hated Me before it hated you. 19
If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’
If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they followed My word, they will follow yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you on account of My name, because they do not know the One who sent Me.
IN Gen 3 - at the fall of mankind from Eden God declares that war would exist between the seed of the woman (those of the Church) and the see of the serpent (Satan is called the "Serpent of old" in Rev 12)
