Obviously her objection was not to sex education but it was instead against "They have comprehensive sex ed. They're teaching kids how to have and enjoy sex, and even same-sex sex, how to pleasure themselves," she said. "This is not something elementary students should learn, nor any student in a public school...These are the things that we need to go after and cut their funding." I see no reason to critize her or snipe at her.

She was speaking a form of sex ed that I’m skeptical even exists - teaching elementary school kids to pleasure themselves? Who does that. So given that that’s likely a boogeyman, I’m left to interpret her comments as being against “comprehensive sex ed,” which covers a number of issues, including measures to avoid becoming a grandmother at 36.

Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is one of the greatest assaults on the health and innocence of children. This is because unlike traditional sex education, comprehensive sexuality education is highly explicit and promotes promiscuity and high-risk sexual behaviors to children as healthy and normal. CSE programs have an almost obsessive focus on teaching children how to obtain sexual pleasure in various ways. Yet, ironically, comprehensive sexuality education programs are anything but comprehensive as they fail to teach children about all of the emotional, psychological and physical health risks of promiscuous sexual activity. The ultimate goal of CSE is to change the sexual and gender norms of society, which is why CSE could be more accurately called “abortion, promiscuity, and LGBT rights education.” CSE is a “rights-based” approach to sex education and promotes sexual rights to children at the expense of their sexual health.

This is another episode of The Obama Time Machine, wayyyy back in 1993, Dr Joycelyn Elders, suggested that some of the youth of the time might want to learn a bit more about their bodies worked and explore themselves. (I’m pretty sure she was talking about high schoolers, but it’s been thirty years and there’s a bit o’ dust on the antenna.)

To clarify: I wasn’t skeptical that something called CSE exists. What I’m skeptical of is that it exists as she described it.
