Prayer Request: My brother is in the hospital

The doctor says that he has something called an intussusception. His gut is folding in on itself, and it was causing him some terrible stomachaches.

My brother says that they are going to take a part of his colon out. Please pray for healing, and that he may be free from ongoing future side effects. He's in really bad shape and is going to be in the hospital for 3-4 days. Please pray that he doesn't get an infection from the surgery and that it goes well.

Edit: proper word for that medical condition - fixed. It's really bad.

O Lord our God, Who by a word alone did heal all diseases, Who did cure the kinswoman of Peter, You Who chastise with pity and heal according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every sickness and infirmity, do You Yourself, the same Lord, grant aid to Your servant and cure him of every sickness of which he is grieved.

praying for your brother. May the surgery go well, and may the Lord take him through this negative experience and be with him every step of the way. My pastor says sometimes the Lord does not take you FROM the fire but He takes you THROUGH the fire and when it's over you are better off. I pray for healing and good health and full recovery in Jesus name Amen.

Update: My brother has gone through the surgery and he has called me tonight to say that he is still alive. He did not sound very happy, but at least he's alive.

Please pray for continued healing. My parents are coming over to help me tomorrow as well and to see their son.

Update: My parents and I visited my brother in the hospital. We brought his Bible, a phone charger, and some books and stayed for a few hours. He's awfully lonely, chained to a bank of machines and unable to get up from his chair. My parents are going to go see him again tomorrow, and they are going to stay until he is released.

The nurses are going to have him walk around tomorrow. When the docs cut the intussusception out, they found a growth inside of it. They were concerned about cancer, so they took some lymph nodes too. We're now waiting for biopsy results from that. My brother is only 26. Please continue to keep him in prayer, both that this isn't cancer and continued healing from the surgery.

Meanwhile, my mom sprained her knee on the way to see my brother and me, so I'm going to have to add her to this prayer list. Please pray for healing for her, and wisdom for us, whether to take her to the doctor too. And keep me in prayer as well - while my parents are much better company for my brother than his sister who is prone to "freakouts" (his wording), they are a trial for me to have to deal with.

Thanks for the prayers so far.

I really appreciate them.

No problem. My brother is able to walk around now, eat some soft food, and use the bathroom on his own. He's still hooked up to the IV, but he's able to wheel it around. Hopefully he will be able to be released in a day or two. Thanks for the prayers.

My brother is home from the hospital now. Actually, he came home late Monday night - I just didn't get around to updating this because I was really busy dealing with other stuff. Thankfully, my parents left yesterday as well. Whew.

We're still waiting on the biopsy report to see if he has/had cancer. Thank you for the prayers, everyone.

My mom's leg seems to be better. Unfortunately, my brother does have cancer. They found cancer in the mass they removed and in one of the lymph nodes they took out.

It appears that my brother has colon cancer at age 26.

Do you know what stage? If stage one, he should not have to difficult of a time as compared to the other stages.

I do not know. I will ask my brother when he gets home from work. I received the news that he actually had cancer from my terrified mom.
