• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

Anybody else really dislike this new format?

I really don't like it. I especially don't like all the user information cluttered on top of every post, so you have to scroll past all this stuff to read through the thread. It's confusing and very hard on the eyes.

Anyone else?

I forgot to add something that I actually do like though. When we roll our mouse over a thread title, it gives the preview of what the thread is about - back in the day, even before the previous design, we had that feature, then with the previous design it seemed to be taken out, and now it's back.

You are just a traditionalist, I guess.

It crashes on Chrome. I am using Edge and it works on my iPad. It should work on Chrome.

It's like they got together and said, "What would be the worst possible layout? The worst looking website we could make?" And came up with this and said, "Here suckers."

I'm not a fan. Too busy, too much detracting from the actual content. I also liked how you could navigate forward or back in a thread from both the top of the page or the bottom. Now you have to scroll all the way to the bottom every time.
Portrait mode on the old version automatically hid a lot of the unnecessary guff, but if you needed to check anything you could just rotate your phone temporarily to landscape. This has everything on display in portrait mode and takes up way to much real estate.

I'm afraid I'm not a fan. They seem to have reduced the clutter at the top of each page overnight, as I looked at it yesterday and again today.
There seemed to be a bit less clutter this time, but I'm still not impressed overall.

Also they seemed to have put more member detail on the left hand side of each post, which has expanded the size of each post "page".

Everyone always hates change. I remember every time facebook changed its format everyone always went nuts about it. This is different as, by and large, CF has kept the same format for many years. Truly it is still largely the same, theme wise. Biggest difference I'm seeing is the organization of the sub-forums. They're jumbled together now which does make scrolling easier but until you're used to it, you'll be looking for the sub-forums you like to frequent every time. Regardless, we'll get used to it. There are some bugs that need fixed that they're working on but this isn't too bad overall.

How do you leave ratings other than ‘like’?
On a computer, just hover over like and a list of options icons appear, which they've just updated to remove angry and added back all of the old ones...they need to change those to a more modern smiley but hey, at least the old reactions are back still.

It feels a bit closer to the original style, before the new owners bought it and changed over to XenForo. I miss the "faith icon" days with vBulletin. But it might also be because the site itself was much more lively.
